I like how some posters say that a show is bad because it's liked by "clueless tourists". Last time I looked, tourists are the reason that Broadway has survived all these years. Their money is just as green as yours. Theater is a matter of taste and there's no right or wrong in anyone's opinion.

The only review of a show that matters is your own.

My eyes loved Spider-Man. My ears found it passable, some numbers were great, other induced misery. "Bouncing Off the Walls" and "Bullying By Numbers" we're probably the most offensive to my ears. My mind enjoyed the break from thinking. I had fun. The ticket was probably a little more than it was worth, but oh well. I'd suggest that others see it if they want amazing visual spectacle with possibly enjoyable everything else. There are rumors of a tour, but it most likely ill not... So for that reason alone, it is worth a viewing.

Were the visuals even that good? There was a lot of empty stage and cartoon panels.

The flying was interesting, though.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
