Hey Everyone!

Oh, boy.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I think I already know the answer, but does posting this make it okay to post music/video clips? I see this disclaimer a lot on YouTube. Don't you need the owner's permission to upload any original music/video clips?

Yup. Just saying it isn't yours, doesn't give you the right to use it. People seem to think it does.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I do enjoy how people assume that because they didn't create the bootleg footage their site can't be penalized for hosting it. Or because they aren't "making money" from the clips it's ok to post it. In the eyes of the copyright holders, and the law, it's not ok and they can force you to remove it.

I know you just started this blog, but have you seen anything besides Wicked, Phantom and the Lion King?

Also, Wicked isn't based on Winnie Holzman's story. She did write the book for the show, but it is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire.

According to her profile, she is a 'theater critic'. I hope she doesn't get paid to do so. (and I'm guessing not)

If you think my blog is boring, I totally respect your opinion and I will highly appreciate some constructive criticism. Whether or not I get paid as a theater critic, that's not up to you. And I DO Comment on some of the other threads and other sites. Maybe not as much as you do because I'm new here. Maybe you find my blog boring because you already know a lot about the shows I've posted, but that doesn't mean other people know as much as you do. Being a theater critic is what I love to do and is the passion I will never give up, and I know if I'm passionate about something, I'm going to do my best and try hard, even if I suck at it.
