Welcome to a small bit of fresh hell. This ad looks like it could have been shot for a sketch comedy show. This person is a legitimate contender for the republican Senatorial nomination in the show-me-state.

"In addition, the proposal stated students can express their beliefs and cannot be compelled to participate in school assignments or educational presentations that violate their religion. Missouri public schools also would be required to post the text of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights."

this is a bad, bad sign of things to come.

In many places parents can already opt their children out of sections with which they disagree. It ultimately just hurts the student. The most fundie families home school their kids, anyway.
