All of the Newsies have trading cards, but characters such as Medda, Pulitzer, etc. don't have them.
How many are there? 18 I think...
How do you get them? You get a set of 5 if you buy merchandise at the Nederlander Theatre. I'd imagine if you bought a whole lot of merchandise then you would get more. You can also ask for them at the stagedoor or write letters to the Newsies.
Who do you have to write to to get all of them?? You have to write the individual people who have them. So far within a month I have gotten cards (signed) back from Jeremy Jordan, Andrew Keenan Bolger, Kara Lindsay, Andy Richardson, and Aaron J Albano. Many other people will reply with their card as long as you send a SASE.
Hi! I found this tumblr thread that has 19 "Card Character Descriptions" Would this be all of them? Do you get to pick which 5 you get when you buy something?? Tumblr Link
gstrus2: Oh then there's 19. Two for Les haha! They will ask you which Newsie you want if there is one in particular. I don't know if you get to choose all five.
There are 22 official trading cards. However, now that Alex Wong has left the cast, they may be only out giving 21 (I really don't know). In addition to writing to each cast member, you could always write a general letter to the cast to receive some. However, to guarantee getting a certain card you should just write to that cast member.
At the theatre, you don't get to pick which 5 you get with each item bought. Oddly, if you buy 4 items, they will tell you you're getting the "full set" of 20, which is wrong since there are 22 trading cards. I don't know why they say that, but they do :/ Cast members also give out trading cards at the stage door.
By the way, although they are not the official trading cards, some of the cast members have cards they give out, including Medda... unless they've run out.
^ I got a reply from her today and she sent a signed playbill. I dont know if she has cards left or sends them out. I assumed she didnt have a card when I wrote her, so I didnt mention it.
Very early in the run I sent SASE to everyone, along with individual notes in each. I got a handful of signed cards & notes and then after a month and half, I got sent an entire set, mostly unsigned but some main ones like Jeremy, Kara, Ben & Andrew signed.
The original male swings, Michael Fatica & Jack Scott, also have tradings which are the 2 in the 22 card set; their Newsie names are Knobs & Barney Peanuts, respectively. I would think that they're the hardest to get since many don't know who they are, unfortunately.

The "Medda" cards were created by a fan and given to Capathia Jenkins to hand out at the stage door. Because of that, I'm sure her supply was limited. As far as I could tell, only the "Newsies" + Kara Lindsay had official cards supplied by Disney. Fans of the other characters felt that was somewhat unfair, thus taking matters into their own hands. :) It doesn't hurt to ask. Could be some extras lying about.
Whoa got home to find my inbox filled with request for cards lol, unfortunately if u haven't messaged me by now, I kindly ask that you do not send me a request for the time being, was trying to help out a few folks but I can't help all of BroadwayWorld guys :)
Edit: just so no ones confused, if I have promised u a set through Private message ur good to go ok

When I took my sister to Newsies I bought her a Tshirt and program I made a joke about going "all out" for her first broadway show and the merch girl heard me, then handed my sister a complete set of trading cards because "a first broadway show is a momentous occasion!" So sweet!!
I was wondering if trading cards would be made for replacement cast members.... but if they are not giving them out at the theatre now, I would bet not.
