Quick question....does anyone know if the stage at Lunt Fontanne is raked? I saw both Ghost and Titanic at this theater, but i was up in the rear mezz. Iam seeing Ghost here again in July, but I have 3rd row center orchestra.

Is 3rd row orchestra to close? Wondering if I have to look UP at the stage.

Thanks in advance

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's raked.

It is a low stage so you should be fine.

Sitting in the lotto seats, which are front row, I was fine for the most part. You may have issues seeing some stuff in the second act scene with the subway ghost, and there's one other scene in the first act that I couldn't quite see all of from the front row, but for the most part, you should be fine.

I saw Addams there and it looked raked.

They all call me a troll. Ok, call me a troll. If I stand on my own, so be it.

I don't believe any Broadway stages are actually raked. When you see a broadway show, you are never actually seeing the stage floor. Each show has a (designed and built) show deck. Some show decks have a rake, sometimes not. It is determined by the set design of the show.

The stage in the Lunt is raked, I know several dancers who can testify to it. It's true these days the deck is rebuilt for every show, TITANIC had a complete second tier that rose from below and did the tilting.
But if you stand upstage, even backstage at the Lunt, you are obviously higher than the front of the deck.
It's probably the archecture of the building for the initial sightlines.

So after seeing ghost last night, I didn't notice a raked stage. Wouldn't it be kinda difficult with having treadmills running side to side on a rake? I was eye level with the stage.

The cast was awesome once again. They sign autographs and take photos with everyone outside. It's a pleasure meeting them.

You can rake a stage to varying degrees. It might just be a slight rake that doesn't affect the treadmills. I don't know if it is, but I think they'd be able to figure something out.

First show I ever saw was Annie in 1977 and I remember the treadmills on the stage. I was only 5 years old, but it feels like yesterday.

I sat thrid row dead center and missed nothing. The seats were perfect. The subway scene was fine, but I only raised myself once to see a body double, but can assure you I missed nothing. Enjoy!
