I like the list, but I'd probably drop Class and add A Little Priest.

A Little Priest. Definitely should be on the list.

I think it's wonderful they made this list... and I agree... but would certainly have added at LEAST an Honorable Mention for A LITTLE PRIEST.

I'd replace "Class" and "Take Me Or Leave Me" with "People Like Us" and "A Little Priest." "Another Winter in a Summer Town" should be on here, too, but I can't figure out where.

I still think that "I Will Never Leave You" is one of the most beautiful duets. It's stunning in, and out of context.

What happened to "You're Just in Love" from Call Me Madam and "Friendship" from DuBarry Was a Lady?

What about Ethel Merman and Mary Martin singing a whole host of duets for the Ford 50th Anniversary celebration on TV in the 1950's? They were famous for that show. It is on You Tube and a DVD is also available.

good list, but these would likely be on mine:

"Perfect Strangers" from Drood
"He Can Do It" from Purlie
"A Little Priest" from Sweeney Todd
"Friendship" from Dubarry was a Lady
"Stranger in Paradise" from Kismet
"You Must Meet My Wife" from A Little Night Music
"When the Children Are Asleep" from Carousel
"If I Loved You" from Carousel

and, as posted below, "People Will Say We're in Love"

"People Will Say We're in Love"?
"A Little Fall of Rain"? or "Confrontation"?
Not even a mention of the title track of Phantom of the Opera? Updated On: 6/19/12 at 01:26 PM

I think People Will Say We're in Love is arguably the best musical theater duet in the history of musical theater. Pure class, elegantly written.

I think "Make Believe" should most definitely be on there. I think "If I Loved You" should also be there.

Was there a reason they really stayed away from love songs, which so often provide the best duets? (I also love "Lily's Eyes" from "The Secret Garden" but can understand how that might have been overlooked. "All I Ask of You" probably should be there, too.)

Surprised A Little Priest isn't on that list.

I'm a sucker for The Next Ten Minutes so that would definitely be on my personal list.

I second The Next Ten Minutes. Love the ending as well - Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You

You're Nothing Without Me from City of Angels has to be in the top 10.
Agree on Little Priest should be on the list.
Also, agree with I Will Never Leave You.

I'd trade out of the original list: Sue Me, Class and I Know Him So Well.

I love many of the suggestions here, but they don't make my Top 10.

Would also add "There Once Was a Man" from the Pajama Game, "You're the Top" from Anything Goes and "Jealousy Duet" from The Threepenny Opera in addition to those mentioned.

"Who Wil Love Me As I Am" needs to at least be somewhere on that list, if not at the top.

I'd definitely take out "Every Day a LIttle Death" and sub in "Try Priest". The former, while technically a duet and a wonderful lyric, would work just as well as a solo; the latter is a true "meeting of the minds" between two, very differently motivated, psychopaths.

And I'd take out "Sue Me" just because it isn't that great a song. Certainly not compared to "People Will Say We're in Love", another song that doesn't really work except as a duet. (Yes, I know people have tried it as a solo and it sounds like half a song.)

People Will Say We're in Love should be at the top of that list.

I would eliminate Take Me or Leave Me.

There's always going to be people who will feel some songs should or shouldn't be on the list no matter what the list is, but I think that A Little Priest and People Will Say We're In Love should definitely be on that list.

I'd cut Take Me Or Leave Me and sub in either Move On, We Do Not Belong Together, or Too Many Mornings.

I might include "Too Many Mornings" on the basis of the original Prince staging OR the effect of hearing Ron Raines and Victoria Clark sing it together in L.A.
