Two questions.
One, what's with the controversy with her and wicked? I was looking it up and it seems like the producers were pretty mad with her and fired her. But that's just what the 7 year olds on YouTube say.
Also, anyone care to comment on her transition to country...

I'm not one-hundred percent sure on this, but I think its somewhat accurate. She was the standby for Glinda and one day Chenoweth couldn't do it, so they called her last minute and she was in california, unknown to the producers.

I did not know about this. I really have never cared much for her though.

I doubt that's true. Aren't standbys required to sign in and stay within a certain block radius of the theatre?

That would be the point, ucjr. She wasn't. Haha

You don't think someone would have called her and said "Hey you didn't sign in are you here" or "Anyone see LBB"?

Chenoweth has said in interviews that Bundy had a cleared personal day and Chait couldn't go on because she had a stroke.

Was this during Chenoweth's "Vicodin Shows"?

"She was the standby for Glinda and one day Chenoweth couldn't do it, so they called her last minute and she was in california, unknown to the producers."

Some also say that she was originally going to take over the role when Chenoweth left, but she demanded too much money. So, they left her go when her contract as a standby expired. Another reason was that she took a vacation without permission.

As far as her "Country Career", as a friend's mother who heard her CD said: "just because you like Country music doesn't mean you can sing it".
At one point instead of yodeling, she sang "yodel, yodel, yodel",
Ya gotta love her.

From what I know, Kristin called out, but had to come in anyway and was not happy.

LBB had gone to LA without proper notice.

She had a first-refusal clause in her contract for Kristin's departure. The producers offered her minimum because of the bad blood and what was perceived as irresponsible behavior. She declined.

Life goes on.

Gossip, gossip...

She still got Legally Blonde after this so it couldnt have been that bad...it clearluly wasnt a career killer.

I believe you're right. I remember it being announced on playbill.com that LBB would replace Cheno.

We saw her as Glinda when Kristin did Candide for a couple of nights. We were disappointed as her performance was just ok. We met her that night in Angus McIndoes and she confirmed that she was definitely taking over the role when K left.

Funnily while we were there 2 guys, who had Wicked Playbills, came over to her and said "Kristin who?". They believed she knocked it out of the ballpark!!!

Just because YOU didn't like her, doesn't mean you were right --or that everyone would agree with you. Why so shocked that others did?

(I'm not commenting on her performance, I never saw her in Wicked.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Am I the only one that found her voice just generally REALLY scratchy and kind of odd?

^ Besides trying to make a career in country music, she had a recurring role on 'How I Met Your Mother'.

Didn't she have these promo videos for her country album that ran on Bravo?

I have to be cryptic, because I can't discuss a friend's personal business on an internet message board, but not one story that I've read on the internet has been the truth regarding this matter. You'll all have to be satisfied with never knowing, unless LBB decides to tell you herself. Let all of the conjecture go already.

Who remembers when Mandy Moore was offered to replace Chenoweth?

I'm not entirely sure that she could have handled the vocals.
