That could be one of the most boring posters I've ever seen. (For a major motion picture, anyway.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I liked it! I'm glad they're using the familiar Cosette logo in some capacity. And I liked the red on cream background.
In any case, it's nice to see the official theater promo starting. Maybe they'll have the requisite multiple character banners, stand ups, etc.

It's a typical CinemaCon teaser poster. The filmmakers usually have no assets yet at this point and use whatever they have. For the Avengers, it was just the A logo. This doesn't necessarily mean this will be the theaterical teaser poster. Anyway, they've been using the red Cosette on the Facebook page already.
Well, those who were breathlessly waiting for a fresh marketing campaign for Hollywood are sure to be disappointed. I expected nothing less given Cam Mac's lovely track record.
"There is no problem so big that it cannot be run away from."

It's very traditional yes but we need something big and exotic. And I think this should be like IMAX 3D
Caslon Antique and Trajan finally meet, after all these years.
Drama Doodles Poster Designs Making small town productions look Big Time!
I think they need to cut some of those names off of the poster, IMO. I just keep imagining that parody 30 Rock did of those Valentines/New Years Day movies where they list like 40 actors in a row.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Oh for cryin' out loud it's only a teaser poster. I like the fact that they kept the original design elements that everyone associates Les Miz with. I bet if they would have changed the logo design and not used the famous drawing of Cosette most of you would have been bitching about that.
It's handled.

It is a classic poster, meant to let the world know that the motion picture adaptation is coming soon!
The film adaptation is based on the classic literary gem by one of the world's most prominent literary and historical figures and the stage musical is now a legend on its own.
Given this artistic heritage, this introductory poster is very classically designed - simple, but resonating with the Cosette links to the book and the stage musical.
I am sure there will be a build up of poster publicity for this much awaited movie event!

Love it. The simplicity and classic lines and placement of the classic signature Cosette face. I do think Barks, Redmayne and Tveit should be included, however. The fact that they are less known than those listed doesn't mean their roles are less significant that the other featured members of the cast.

Give them credit.
-The poster used the world-wide identifiable Cosette image. I don't remember the Phantom movie using the famous mask image in any of its marketing.
-The poster says "Musical." When is the last time a poster for a movie musical actually said it was a musical? Most of the times they try to hide this fact.

It amuses me so how the original post clearly states this is a 'teaser' poster yet everyone is commenting as if THIS is the official movie poster, etc. This is NOT -- it is simply, as clearly mentioned, a 'teaser' poster for the media outlets, etc. Teaser poster art ALWAYS only feature a single referential image to 'tease'. Sometimes the actor's names are included. The official poster art comes out a few short months BEFORE the film's release.
I'd HATE to read your comments on the early 'teaser' poster art for films you have since seen. You all would most likely say, "oh, I'm so glad they took out those bold names off the poster...". Um, duh?
Seriously, folks? You guys are THIS clueless even after you read something?
This here is an example of 'teaser' posters, folks. Yes, again... TEASER POSTERS!

I love the NO HOT LINKING posters BrodyFosse123. Those are THE BEST ONES. LMAO!!
Oh and here is an example of a TEASER POSTER that was, in my opinion so much better than what was issued when the film was finally released to theaters:
Official release poster with grossly touched up picture that clearly gave away the ending of the film:

That won't happen. On screen credits and billing on advertisements such as posters, billboards, flyers are all worked out in the individual actors' contracts. What you see is the official billing.

Updated On: 4/22/12 at 11:54 AMIt is just a teaser, I like the fact they're keeping it identifiable to the show though. The thing that annoys me most about it actually is that they've left Eddie Redmaynes name off. I get them not putting on Aaron but not Eddie?
I have no doubt when the campaign gets going, closer to release, it will be very different. There is no way they're not going to use at least Hugh and Russell on posters. If you have heavyweight leading men, you use them. Most likely there will be individual character posters.

This isn't even THE official teaser poster. It was just put together for cinemacon.
We'll get the official teaser poster when the first teaser trailer is released, and the theatrical one sheet probably in October/November.

I am really looking forward to Les Mis movie. I have seen the musical countless times, and loved it. I am very excited to see how the movie translates it.
i too am really looking forward to this movie...and the poster wets my appetite...jeez you guys lighten up...sometimes a good movie does come out of a Broadway show, and this one certainly has the pedigree going for it...it will be a must see on any movie goer list this Dec...the only worry i have is that it opens onthe same day as THE HOBBIT...that might hurt some
New, clearer picture of the poster, this looks like a larger stand-up version with the Universal logo at the bottom:

Regarding billing, has Sacha Baron Cohen really already earned an "and" before his name, especially among such company?
I just realized we have the Les Mis movie coming in December theoretically and then the tour is coming to Philly in January and I am planning on seeing both. Wow I will certainly be getting my fill! Good thing I love it!
