What I meant was they were just suggestions by the website

I got that part, my point being some of those suggestions are totally out of nowhere and completely wrong for the role.

I'd like to see a Louise who's not a goddess. The story doesn't make sense if Louise is unbelievably talented and incredibly beautiful. I thought the point was that Gypsy had success because she had a gimmick. She succeeded without beauty or talent.

For a film, Louise needs to be played by a real women in her late teens/early twenties.

Most of the women on that list can pass for Louise from the mezz, but not on a movie screen.

Most of them look 40.

Not sure many broadway starlets will be considered for the role in a commercial movie with Babs. Hate to say it, but don't see any of these ladies in the mix for MANY reasons.

I vote Jessica Pare after her scintillating Zou Bisou Bisou on Made Men this past week. I understand how wrong this might be. But when dealing with the Babs GYPSY, who's to say what's right?

June is going to be either Betty White or Clo Leachman. Barbra looks younger when casting older daughters. (My money is on Clo getting the gig).

Mayim Bialik?

This film cries out for Jackie Hoffman! Tessie Tura, perhaps?

I think this is the first movie where Barbra has a daughter...I wonder what it is like to work with Barbra?

That girl from HUNGER GAMES looks perfect, kinda tall, big boobs and not classically a beauty.

I think Jennifer Lawrence is a really interesting suggestion. I actually think Scarlet Johansson could make a really fun, overly ripe Dainty June.

Weren't there rumors of Johansson as Louise in the Summer Stars production?

I think there have been Johansson rumours for pretty much every major Broadway musical for the past five years.

Anna Kendrick?

She is pretty, but not glamorous. Has stage and screen credits...

Natalie Portman is a contender that should be on any list for the role, though I personally think Anne Hathaway is the best possible option. Her FUNNY GIRL connection notwithstanding, Lauren Ambrose would also be a fun possibility. Given Streisand's age, people like Anna Kendrick and Jennifer Lawrence are likely much younger than they'll end up going.

I second your idea of Scarlett Johansson for June, Michael Bennett.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

If we are to believe that Babs is the Mother of Baby June and Louise then Dainty June and Stripper Louise can also be played by younger actresses. Unless the Babys are played by 20 year olds.

I don't know if she sings, but Shailene Woodley could be good in the role.

The whole point is that Louise can not sing or dance, which is good news for most Hollywood's young actresses.

Who the h#ll is Shailene Woodbury?

Here's another question, who is directing this thing?

Katharine McPhee seems to be the best "name" of the bunch, but she looks nothing like Barbra. I'd hate to see them go with Lea Michele for someone who looks like Streisand.

Woodley played George Clooney's oldest daughter in The Descendants.
