I have heard from a friend of mine on a national tour that there is going to be a Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Revival in 2012. Anyone have any news of this?
Do they still do a shortened replay of the entire show at the end?
When I saw the tour during the 90s, the show was so short that they had to pad it out by basically doing a truncated version of the entire show once the full show was over. It seemed sort of awkward and I wasn't sure if they still did that or if they found some other solution to the problem of the show's brief running time. Just curious!
If this happens and Webber still brings in his Wizard of Oz that would give us Phantom, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph, and the Webber Wizard Rainbow Mix all playing on Broadway at the same time. I'm scared...
Isn't CATS coming to New World Stages? I have a friend off-Broadway who told me that.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
