Posted: 11/15/11 at 9:55amComing up to NYC on the 26th and staying through the 29th. Never been to NYC at this time of year and wondered what ticket availbility at TKTS might be like. Can anyone offer any insights based on past experience? Have five show slots to fill and have already purchased a full-price ticket in the mezz for "Follies."

Posted: 11/15/11 at 12:04pmSorry to hear that those are the days you're coming -- everything ups it price during that period. That doesn't mean that you won't have luck at the TCKS board, but you'll note that even the discount codes say "Not valid for performances between December 24 and January 1." (or whatever the language is.) It's just another ripoff. The irony is, come January 2, EVERYTHING will have LARGE discounts except the mega-hits. It's like out-of-towners are being punished. Fortunately, I live close enough to NYC that I can get in just about any time. But I feel for you guys.

The only show that we were able to get a discount code for was for Bonnie and Clyde, the matinee performance on Wed. the 28th (the last day before New Years that a discount was available). Every other show that we wanted to see was not selling a discount for that week. This is the first trip that I've had to pay full price for all but one show!

Posted: 11/15/11 at 7:37pmI've had decent luck at TKTS during that period, but my tastes run to the classical plays rather than the musicals. It was a breeze to get 1/2 price tickets for MEDEA on New Year's Eve a few years ago.

Posted: 11/15/11 at 11:54pmand unless you get there early, expect to wait over an hour. Maybe 2 hours. All the usuals should be there(Chicago, Phantom, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Memphis, Sister Act, Spiderman, Addams Family)
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Posted: 11/16/11 at 9:01amThanks for the feedback. Paid full price for "Follies," "War Horse," and "Other Desert Cities" and by sitting in the mezz didn't spend a fortune. Got a discount for "Priscilla" and managed to get an orchestra seat. If my flight arrives when it is supposed to, hoping to pick-up one of the 12/26 matinees at TKTS.
