The Palace is my least favorite theatre. I HATE it! I wish it would go to the Imperial.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Evita was originally scheduled to go to the Marquis after Follies was done with its original run. Howver, since Follies is doing better then originally thought, it's looking likely that it is going to be around a bit longer.
I am not happy with The Palace either. I hate the location and hate how it's such a barn of a theatre as well. I also hate the fact that unless you know what's playing there, you can't tell the Palace marquee from the same four billboards surrounding the theatre.

Winston is right. It's easy to say you'll meet someone at that theater so they can buy tickets from you but when ypu get there and wait for them for an hour and they don't show, it's hard to know exactly where you are because of stuff like that.
This news is not surprising. I always thought the show was destined for the Palace. They had always said that the production would land at a Nederlander house, and so the Imperial was never in the running, as it is a Shubert house.
The Palace is just such a big theatre and hard to fill. It seems like they would go for something a bit smaller. I guess this is a revival of a big named show. West Side Story did pretty well at the Palace.

I just hope I'm able to afford better seats than what I had for West Side Story; the acoustics were awful and I lost a lot of the lyrics.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

I also hate that if you are in row 2 of the balcony people lean over. Luckily it wasn't a problem when I saw Priscilla because the balcony was pretty empty so I moved to have more room and a better view. The balcony doesn't have the greatest sight lines either.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
so Priscilla will close in January sometime. Evita takes the Palace & Follies extends into the summer at the Marquis.
could Newsies take the Neil Simon??? Or is it too big??
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I've been cheering for EVITA to storm the Palace for weeks... and yet I heard just the opposite a few hours ago, the FOLLIES extension is still very much uncertain.
Follies to extend at Marquis? Jesus Christ Superstar to take The Neil Simon. EVITA to take the Palace? Rebecca or Funny Girl to take The Imperial? Updated On: 10/4/11 at 06:17 PM
