They won't announce until all contracts have been signed. That being said, I don't know if final callbacks have yet occured. (I know they had one set of callbacks.) It's not uncommon for the cast to be announced as they go into rehearsals.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Davenport's blog talked about callbacks on August 1st and expected to announce some casting "in the next week or so."

^I was just checking that! Indeed, 8/1 WAS the final callbacks. and while Davenport SAID announcements in a week, I wouldn't hold my breath. There are contracts to negotiate and meetings to be had. They will likely have VERBAL commitments, but its never wise to announce until the ink is dry.

According to Ken Davenport's producers blog the casting announcement could come as early as tomorrow. They spent the day readying the press release.
I'll obviously be obsessively checking his blog all day. Can't wait to hear the casting announcement! Do we have any rumors yet?

Wasn't Davenport looking for talented unknowns, or was that just free publicity to have an open call?

1. They are required to hold an open call.
2. This is the perfect show for unknowns, but I wouldn't be suprised if a few parts were b'way names. (Jesus, Judas, Sonia)

I hope a couple of the other main cast members are announced soon. He's a good looking guy but needs a solid cast around him for this to work.
I think casting Hunter is perfect. He'll bring good publicity, he's not bad to look at (hah), and his voice is surprisingly strong. Have you guys seen him perform before? I saw him twice in Spring Awakening and was really impressed.
And I read on the blog that about 1/3 of the callbacks were from the open call- that's pretty good if you ask me. I'm sure lots of the ensemble will be fairly unknown, but I agree that they'll probably cast bigger names in the lead roles.
Already getting so excited for this show!!

Jennifer Dinoia (current Elphaba standby)is in the cast, but I have no idea what role she's playing.

Hmmmm..
Hmmmm..
Morgan James (who was originally cast a swing when this production was previously scheduled for Broadway) will be singing "Turn Back, O Man."
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Robin de Jesus will also be in the new Broadway production, reprising his track singing "We Beseech Thee" from the Papermill incarnation.

I was really excited about this but if Robin de Jesus is in anything, I'm not interested. Welp.

I can't stand him either. He's way over the top and trying too hard to be funny.

It's the worst. I've never been as annoyed with a performer as I am with him and I've never even SEEN him in anything (live, at least).
