They won't announce until all contracts have been signed. That being said, I don't know if final callbacks have yet occured. (I know they had one set of callbacks.) It's not uncommon for the cast to be announced as they go into rehearsals.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
^I was just checking that! Indeed, 8/1 WAS the final callbacks. and while Davenport SAID announcements in a week, I wouldn't hold my breath. There are contracts to negotiate and meetings to be had. They will likely have VERBAL commitments, but its never wise to announce until the ink is dry.

1. They are required to hold an open call. 2. This is the perfect show for unknowns, but I wouldn't be suprised if a few parts were b'way names. (Jesus, Judas, Sonia)

I think casting Hunter is perfect. He'll bring good publicity, he's not bad to look at (hah), and his voice is surprisingly strong. Have you guys seen him perform before? I saw him twice in Spring Awakening and was really impressed.
And I read on the blog that about 1/3 of the callbacks were from the open call- that's pretty good if you ask me. I'm sure lots of the ensemble will be fairly unknown, but I agree that they'll probably cast bigger names in the lead roles.
Morgan James (who was originally cast a swing when this production was previously scheduled for Broadway) will be singing "Turn Back, O Man."
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Robin de Jesus will also be in the new Broadway production, reprising his track singing "We Beseech Thee" from the Papermill incarnation.
