I just joined TM gold club and it's only showing me like 5 shows that are being offered, when I talked to the lady on the phone she named me about 40 different shows
How do I get to see the full list?

Thats probably all they have left right now. Sometimes they have five, sometimes forty.

Do they update on the weekends?
Im hoping to see something thru them for the matinee tomorrow

I'm almost 200% positive their offices are closed on Sundays and close early Saturday. The next update will be on Monday. All that should be on the website in their FAQ.

There are different tabs....new additions....tomorrow....all. They don't update after Saturday afternoon. Weekend shows are generally posted earlier in the week. When shows are sold out they are removed, not left on the site as on some of the other clubs.

I've been a Gold Club member for years. There are tabs at the top New Additions, Today, Tomorrow etc. The last one is ALL. I just checked and there are about 20 shows there now.

They do update more frequently during the week, but it's not unheard of that new offerings pop up on the weekend. I usually check in at least once a day on the weekend; much more frequently during the week.

I just joined and one of the main reasons I joined was to get the free tickets to Priscilla that they said would come with my membership. Does anyone know how to get those tickets?

They call you within 48 hours I believe. Ive been waiting for a show worth paying $50 dollars a ticket to join and the day has finally come.

I've belonged, at one point or another, to almost all of the papering services, and Gold Club was definitely my least favorite. They lure you in with tickets to something running on Broadway and promise an avalanche of shows, yet what's normally available is a pile of Off-Off-Broadway stuff that nobody wants to see. I haven't been a member with them for almost 5 years, so maybe things have changed, but that was my experience when I was with them.

I've had much better luck with Audience Extras and Theatre Extras.

As a member of Play by Play and the Gold Club, I think it's fair to say that both of them have slowed down a bit this year. There just used to be a lot more offered.

That being said, this summer in particular has been slow. There just aren't that many new things opening.

Once fall hits, there'll be a lot more stuff.

If someone has a membership to TDF & play-by-play do you recommend GoldClub as well? Are there any big differences to what GoldClub offers in terms of broadway shows compared to Play By Play?

Gold Club's value is inversely proportional to how good the season is going, so we don't really have any chum in the water limping its way to the Tonys like Scandalous, Leap of Faith in previous years. I mean, if you wanted to see Bronx Bombers, it was up there. So far the shows not selling as well as people might expect, like Gentleman's Guide or Bridges haven't really hit papering status yet, and are probably hoping for a Tony boost. After the Tonys, one imagines the Gold Club will pick up steam...

I'd much prefer a strong season to a wide assortment of tickets to shows about to close.

I don't think the Gold Club has been all that bad lately. They do get a lot of the popular off-Broadway shows that get topics on this board. As for Broadway, the previous poster is right that since there aren't many shows this season that are really struggling, they haven't gone up on there. The few shows that have really struggled, and nearly all the non-profit shows when they were in previews, have been up there. Maybe the people who say it's been bad just don't check it enough? There's actually a way on Gold Club to see what new shows are put up on there, even if they went out of stock already.

Personally, I think the $100 a year I spend for Gold Club membership is worth it.

And I shouldn't be saying this in public because the more members there are, the more competition for shows! But here goes anyway.

I just counted the number of shows I've seen in the past 12 months via Gold Club and via TDF, and the answer is the same, 21 each. By far the cheaper option has been Gold Club, and when I look at the two lists, I actually see more shows that I've enjoyed on the GC list.

If you're evaluating joining, I would say to give it a try if a) there is a "bonus show" offered at the time (there hasn't been one lately); b) If you keep up on what's coming to Broadway or Off Broadway and can snag likely candidates in previews; c) If you live close enough to NYC to get here quickly; c) If you have a schedule that allows you to see shows during the week or, better yet, a Wednesday matinee.

I agree the value is there, over the course of the last year I have seen 36 shows via GC, 8 of which were Broadway. If it weren't for these papering clubs I would never be able to afford the amount of theater I see.

I think the Gold Club is wonderful. Their scope of the Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway scene tends to be much deeper than Play by Play.

That being said, if you're only looking to see Broadway shows, Play by Play is the better option. TDF is better than both of them, but obviously you're spending a lot more money.
