While I was watching the film, I wished I was watching it on stage some times. I loved it!

Same here! I can visually see "I've Got A Dream" as a big dance number.
I thought the same thing when I saw it the first time and the second time spent the whole movie picturing how it would be. Imagine what they could do with crazy wig effects and then with the lanterns!
::bust a move::
I think that this would be a fantastic Broadway show too! However, I must say that I disagree with your casting of Drew Seeley for Flynn Rider. I am not a big fan of Drew. I saw him in The Little Mermaid and thought that Sean Palmer was a thousand times better. I don't know, Drew has a really pop voice and not really Broadway IMO..
This.
Imagine what they could do with 'I See The Light'. Absolutely breathtaking in the movie.

Everything in life...is only for now.

BEATRICE BEBE NEUWIRTH SHOULD BE MOTHER GOTHEL
They could have lanterns rise up from within the auditorium!
I could see Donna reprising the role...

Yes. Who could play Donna better than Donna?
And I had forgotten to put Bebe N up there...she LOOKS Mother Gothel...
In regards to you zepka, YES. Like they could have them raise up from designated holes throughout the auditorium....or have cast members walk through the auditorium and let them go. Maybe they could come out of the pit too! Where would I pitch this show concept?

yes and beatrice and mother gothel also have the same personality and age to play mother gothel
2nd the notion about Drew Seeley not being Flynn material. His voice is way to thin and poppy to handle a Broadway show. I know he was in Little Mermaid...but for those who saw him we know the truth.

There is nowhere to pitch the concept. Disney, like most entertainment companies, does not accept unsolicited ideas. You would have to be a legitimate writer approaching them through an agent. But believe me, Disney Theatrical is very much aware of the movies in the Disney film catalogue.
those casting choices for the role of Rapunzel are dreadful (except maybe Chelsea). But then again Mandy Moore was pretty bad voicing the film.

Mandy Moore's voice was one of the sweetest things about the movie in my opinion.
I still wish "I See the Light" won the Best Song Oscar.

Random Question... are these characters proprietary property of Disney? I know stuff like Lion King, and Little Mermaid are but did Disney have to pay some royalties to whoever created the fairy tale of Rapunzel many years ago?

@henryt Of course, but they are currently trying to bring The Jungle Book and Dumbo to the stage... I would prefer other Disney films to make the transfer to stage.
@ace33 Well, Little Mermaid was Hans Christian Anderson and Rapunzel was Brothers Grimm, if I'm not mistaken.

@ace33 whoever created it was Brothers Grimm and their fairytale of Rapunzel is public domain, so there are no royalties to be paid. Much like Shakespeare.
OMG I'm SOOO glad I'm not the only one who sees the stage potential this movie has! I thought I was going crazy and I wanted to start a thread on this but thought flying objects may have made their way towards me. Even a few reviewers have said it could work on stage, which gave me hope..lol
This movie is more theatrical than I though when I saw it and I kid you not, I'm pretty sure I wanted to clap after When Will My Life Begin reprise because it was such a theatrical moment with the theatrical music to match! Of course I remembered I was in a movie theatre ;P
I would LOVE to see Donna reprise her role, to me she was the standout performance of the film, I wouldn't even mind seeing Zach reprise his too cause he has said he would love to return to the stage sometime when the opportuniy arises. I know Mandy has said the same thing, but absolutely not. I loved her in the movie and it worked but to me she is NOT stage material. Chelsea would be a lovely choice, but not really anyone else I feel. I'm sorry but Lea is too poppy much like Drew, but again that is just me. But me ultimate choice for Rapunzel...please don' hate me...ME. When I saw this as a stage musical, I immediately thought "I WANNA DO THIS ROLE IF IT EVER COMES TO BROADWAY!" But that may be just wishful thinking. *sigh*
For some odd reason, there is just something about Rapunzel that is just so much much more adorable, endearing and just all around more loveable than any of the other Disney Princesses. Am I the only one that thinks this? I've never been this obsessed with a Disney film/Princess before. She is the perfect balance of old Disney heroine that is sweet, innocent, and adorable and a bit of a naivete and the new heroine that is smart, will powered, and can hold her own against the world. I'm STILL suprised that she doesn't have some sort of mental problem after being stuck in ine place for that long :P But hey she kept herself busy and she's creative about it!
Apologies for how long winded this is...oh man I AM pathetically obsessed.

Brothers Grimm didn't create any of their fairy tales--unlike Hans Christian Andersen, even Perrault who adapted traditional stories. The Grimms made it their mission to travel and transcribe traditional tales...
At any rate, I loved Tangled but think it suits the stage... not really whatsoever. Sure the lanterns could be neat--that's it. Otherwise it's largely an action adventure, where allt he set pieces rely on that. It's one of the least adaptable Disney animated films--then again I thought Tarzan was too (cough).
Just cuz you wanted to cough after a great sequence like Life Begins doesn't mean it's suited for the stage... In fact I'd say the main reason you wanted to clap-song aside-were for visuals that could never be done justice on stage.

I couldn't see this working onstage. I didn't care for the movie at all though either.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
I was just listening and i was thinking Ana Gasteyer as Mother Gothel. I know she's mainly known for comedy but i think she could pull off a part like this, plus can you imagine that mother knows best.
Abby Slocum for Rapunzel. She's great.

Even Off Broadway you say? Oh, the horror! Who would ever see a show Off Broadway?
That said, I was never a fan of the movie or the music.

Scratch and claw for every day you're worth!
Make them drag you screaming from life, keep dreaming
You'll live forever here on earth.
TANGLED was a masterpiece of mediocrity. I have no wish to see it adapted as a piece of musical theatre.
