Please say prayers tonight and/or think positive thoughts for longtime BroadwayWorld Board 'Legend', RobbieJ, whose partner (and multi-MAC nominated, award winning cabaret singer and BroadwayWorld concert vet) Dave Gurland had a fatal cerebral hemorrhage early this morning. I know that a few BroadwayWorld-ers and close friends are with him and his family at the hospital tonight as they saying their very sad and unexpected goodbyes.

Dave is an organ donor, so he will be giving a few more gifts than he already has to those lucky enough to know him. We lost a good one today folks.

I had drinks with David ages ago at a mutual friend's birthday. He was charming, funny and, I found out later when I got to hear him sing, possessed great talent.

Such a sad day for a lot of people. My heart goes out to RobbieJ and David's many friends.

I am reminded of Daniel Patrick Moynihan's quote at the death of JFK:

He was a wonderful, talented, funny, sweet man. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Prayers are being said for Robbie and their families.

I am in shock. A sweet man and wonderful talent. Is this a stroke of some kind? What a tragedy. My blessings to the family and to his memory.

While I did not know his partner, my thoughts are with Robbie in this difficult time.

And this thread is a great example of the connection this living community, we call theatre, has in each of our lives.

This is such heartbreaking news. I knew David through Robbie, so I didn't know him all that well. He was always a charming, hilarious, good time guy with a lot of real major talent. It's almost impossible to comprehend. My heart goes out to Robbie and to the families of both the boys. I wish I had something more consoling to say.

This is so devastating. It is so heartbreaking when a life is cut short and my prayers and thoughts go out to both Robbie and Dave's family. I do not know them as personally as some posters but admired from distance. May you all get through this hard time.

There is no comfort to be had at this. I am remembering now David's enormous talent, his sweet smile and the gorgeous love he and Robbie shared.

Hamlet says, "There is a special providence in the fall of a sparrow."

All we can do is send our love to Robbie and his family and David's family and love each other a little more.

How awful- I guess it's a reminder to us all that life is precious and anything can happen. My thoughts are with you.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

I wish I could spread some joy, but I sit here with tears in my eyes thinking of the pain my friend endures now and will for some time to come. We who knew David were blessed to have shared his extraordinary talent and joy for life and his great love for Robbie. All I can think of are Facebook invitations to shows that I always thought, "Oh I'll make the next one." I hate having missed a single one. I hate that I will never get to see another. And I hate that my friend has lost his love, his pal, his partner. I love you, Robbie.

Papa, that's so true.

I hate it also. None of this is right. I woke up (after tossing and turning all night) and SO wanted this all to be not true...

So much tragic pain.
My prayers continue, and my love goes out to Robbie, and all who are suffering through this tragedy.

My prayers are with Robbie and everyone who loved David. Nothing so tragic can ever make sense, but my wish is that everyone can focus on the love and talent that this man had and shared. God bless.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
