I'm going to a showing in Arlington, VA. Why there is not a single movie theatre showing it in Washington, DC proper, I will never know. At least one theatre is metro accessible.
"Why do you care what people might say? Why try to fit into their design?" (Side Show)
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
I had (via a gift card that was redeemed two days before discounts were announced) full-price tickets (best-available, yet not-so-great seats) to Spider-Man (Row U). Upon hearing that there would be no November 17th performance, I reserved tickets to the Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert (Garden State Plaza, Paramus). I also bought tickets for four friends in L.A. who will be arriving to the theater there as we're finishing here.
p.s. I mailed in my Spider-Man tickets and got a replenished gift card.
pps: Even though not all of the L.A. friends are 65, I was able to get them all Senior Citizen tickets for $16.00 apiece. Regular priced Adult tickets would have cost $16.00.
ppps: Regarding Arlington, VA -- Isn't Arlington actually closer to Washington, DC proper than most of Washington, DC?
I was able to get two-for-one tickets thanks to some deal with my Chase credit card. Not sure if this is still valid, but it worked for me at an AMC theater.

When I bought my tickets, the Adult ticket price was listed at $15 plus a service charge of $1, for a total of $16. The Senior price was also listed, at $15 plus a service charge of $1, for a total of $16.
Additionally, there was a Child price listed. That price was $15 plus a service charge of $1, for a total of $16. (But we didn't care about that because my friends are childless.)
p.s. At least one L.A. theater with reserved seats, Century City, was virtually sold out as of last Friday (had front row only). A different theater, with open seating (Woodland Hills), was 40% available.
pps: Talking about front row -- On Sunday I'll be seeing Les Miserables, the New 25th Anniversary Production, opening this weekend at the Paper Mill Playhouse. As of a few minutes ago, the website showed as available Seats A101 and A102.
I'm going to Union Square location. I was to have seen SPIDER-MAN that night as well, but seeing as they aren't yet ready, I figure I'll check out this "concert" and see how it is.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Yes, and it's released next month. Or at least that is what my roommate tells me.

I was hoping to go, but then I got sick today. I really want to see this, so I'm hoping for a DVD release. At least I'm going to see the national tour, which I'm really excited for.
There is a video clip somewhere on BWW that previews the DVD; there was a comment in the article that seemed to indicate a U.S. release next year sometime.
I was gonna wait for the DVD, but the fun of seeing it on a big screen is too much to pass up. There are two theaters playing it in Pittsburgh. Bizarre.
