"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
Is Cheyenne Jackson still attached?

"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
I don't know which role Cheyenne was in the running for, but according to Riedel's post from a week or so ago the two main characters will apparently be played by "newcomers Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad."
EDIT: I don't know why Riedel called them "newcomers"--after Googling them I see that both are Broadway veterans: Rannells in Jersey Boys and Hairspray, and Gad in Spelling Bee.

Josh Gad has also had a fairly successful career in film and television too, with notable parts in 21, The Rocker, Back to You (sitcom with Kelsey), and the upcoming Love and Other Drugs. He's also done some work for The Daily Show.
So yeah, newcomer is definitely not the case.

Jackson was not attached to the most current reading.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
