Looks like Signature put up their Angels in America website - it has the performance schedule which I think people were asking for earlier this week (sorry couldn't find that thread). They also have photos from first rehearsal. I know where I'll be August 3 at 10AM!

I'm going to the first performance!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Would you imagine the scene at the box office on the 3rd is going to be sheer chaos? I am wondering what time to get there or just to buy online/phone. Thoughts?

Thank you! Drats, I already bought my ticket to NYC and now it doesn't look like I can configure "A in A"! (I was hoping for a marathon of both shows on October 16th.) Oh well, maybe it'll extend into the new year.

Got my tickets. Love the Signature. Ironically, newmoon, I have Part 2 scheduled for the Oct. 16 matinee!

Officially jealous! Well, maybe I can reconfigure the travel plan... :) Or, ideally, they'll finally revive the plays here on the Left Coast!

Just when you thought they couldn't make that design any uglier.. they take it to a whole new level with that blue background and more red/gradiant colored lettering.

I'd been thinking about going to the box office that day, but closer examination of the whole website showed that the box office doesn't open until 1pm. So I guess I'll be paying service fees and ordering online.

I saw that too, but was wondering whether they would have special hours that day.

Not sure. Maybe they'll add that to the website? The fact that it says "Or buy at the box office at" and lists a number makes me wonder as well if they'll just start them with phone and internet and just see what's left at 1pm.

edit: I called the number to see what the voice mail said, and they list the box office hours, then go on to say that tickets will go on sale at 10am on August 3rd and may be purchased by phone, online or in person. But nothing about if the box office will be OPEN at 10. I just left a comment on the blog. We'll see if that gets a response. Updated On: 8/1/10 at 08:14 PM

Thanks for doing the research, angelplays! Please keep us posted. I would just rather go there in person to avoid the fees and such.

No problem matty159. I totally understand. I'd rather go in person too. (But if they're not opening in person until 1pm, I'll deal with the fees.) Hopefully someone will reply to the blog comment. I'll let you know.

Hey y'all. Just an update. I checked the blog and the reply was as follows:

The Box Office will be open at 10AM on the 3rd -- special hours for that day only.

I'm not too far from there and don't mind getting there early to ensure getting tix - and to save a few bucks on the fees, of course. Who else is going?

I was just coming to let you know what the reply was. I have work today, so was asleep at 3am. :)

Assuming money that's supposed to be in my account gets there, I'll be there to get tickets tomorrow.

Sorry angel! Seeing as how I had to be at work at 9 this morning, being up at 3:22am was not a fun thing at all.

I'm just wondering how early I need to get there. Sleep would be nice, but I really want to surprise my partner with these tix. We totally missed out on the subscriptions.

No problem! :)

I'm taking tomorrow off (I get two days for the summer) for tickets. Not sure what time I am getting there, but I'm thinking 8ish? Not sure if that's going to be too late or way early. I know we're all excited about it, but I don't know if the greater public is all that into it, you know? I'm pretty flexible with my dates, so hopefully that will help.

I'm getting there at 9:00am. Seems reasonable enough. It's a nice lengthy run so I'm sure I'll get a good ticket without having to sacrifice too much sleep.

Thanks for the update on the box office time. Hopefully since getting to that information about the special hours was difficult, there won't be many of us and it will be an easy affair.

I will be there at 9 or shortly before...with coffee firmly in hand.

I'm buying my tickets online at 10. I know there's no way of knowing, but are we expecting this to sell out right away?

I made sure I wouldn't have work when these tickets go on sale. Can't wait, though I don't think I'll be seeing the show until the very end of the run.

I'm on line now. About 20th in line. We were just informed that ticket sales have been extended an additional 6 weeks to January 30th. Tickets beyond December 19th are $85.

Just to remind everyone - the show will sell out, but remember that the cancellation lines at Signature are almost always a good way to see the shows there - even with hot tickets like this and ORPHAN's CYCLE - tix are almost always available on the day of the performance
