I certainly haven't been around since the beginning and have no idea how I found this place, but it has given me some of the most wonderful friends ever.

I had no idea about BFB. RIP.

I miss Izzie and her fetus.

Oh, there was that poster named "Tammimi" who loved Community Theatre and claimed it was every bit as good as Broadway. She also believed her boyfriend was a great guy because he hadn't pistol whipped anyone in over a year. Where is she now?

Been around since mid 2003 (see join date), but I lurked for a loooong time.

Anyway, for the ones who are clueless about the infamous Playbill wall, I did a quick search and proudly present...

I know folks on this board with more Playbills than that on their wall.

It wasn't about the amount of Playbills... it was just funny because whenever there was a thread about Playbills, he'd post a picture of or mention his wall.

Not to brag (but heck, I'm doing it!), I have well over 3,000 Playbills. Actually, it might be more like 3,500 at this point.

They date back to 1963.

I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

PattiLuPoneFANatic, I believe that PJ's photo is of the mythical BrendanStryker, a poster created for the purposes of...well, I wasn't really playing that game, so someone else will have to give further details, but there were photos like the one PJ posted all along the way. He was handsomer, more adventuresome, and better-traveled than anyone. I think he finally came to a sad and mysterious end.

Six years for me- gosh!

Reading some of those names, I feel a little sad. I guess that's the nature of message boards: people come and go- but there were some great people who no longer post. No offense to anyone posting now of course!!!

Over on the West End board we also have our old-timers, but most of us seem to still be around.

"PBENT, I want to hear more about that Mary_Ethel meldown."~ Dottie .

Dottie, you little dickens, the truth is locked in the abyss even if you do remember his/her exact _ screen name.

So has anyone found the "BWW poster of the day" thread? (I think that was the title). It contains a plethora of old posters passing the baton in a rely race of ridiculous comments and roastings. Anyone?

I can match my start date against any of the old timers. The only reason mine is a week later than people like CapnHook is that I was on vacation in London. I came back to find out that FindingNamo (back then Spike) had gotten so nasty that the Broadway.com board had been shut down.

There used to be some wonderful discussions here. A woman named Miriam (OnceADancer) would tell us about the old days of Broadway. Her posts were always interesting to read. Search her name to find some interesting things.

Dollypop would blow up anytime a child was around. Remember "FaithPrinceFan"? FaithPrinceFan was in love with Faith Prince.

I think one of the things that went wrong over at Broadway.com was that everyone wanted an Off-Topic board, but the moderator wouldn't create one and he would delete any posts that were not related to theater. He wasn't interested in maintaining a message board.

It's sad that I've gotten to a point in my life where I can truly say "things aren't what they used to be". I used to post quite alot, and loved the communtiy feel especially on the off-topic board. I don't really post very often anymore, but keep coming back just to see what everyone is up to in cyberspace. I just checked my join date. didn't realize it's been so long. My Five year anniversary of joining is in two days!!!!

I joined this site in the summer of 2004. I was 15.

For the first couple of years, and for that first summer especially (SUMMER CHATS '04!), I was on this website all the damn time. This site helped me grow in ways that I cannot articulate. A few of the posters here, and one in particular who I miss dearly, helped me to find myself when I was most lost, in the way that any closeted gay boy in Texas would feel lost.

I don't spend nearly as much time on these boards as I used to. There are times I'l go a few months without visiting. Life gets in the way. Friends. College.

But this site was a very important stepping-stone in my life. And I am extremely grateful that I googled whatever it was I googled about Bernadette Peters that day back in the summer of 2004 which led me here.

Oh, Goth, your memory, like all memories, is inaccurate. I had not been Spike for a long time when that board was shut down. And everybody knows it was because of your Rapture-based condemnations of other posters. Many people thought you were Fred Phelps, and for good reason.

Namo, you need to quit huffing on the little brown bottle, it's affecting your memory. You were Spike even after the moderator shut the board down, but we could all still get in by using old links.

Allusions to Dollypop being a pedophile..hmm right out of the Sarah Palin playbook: when on the defense, suggest that someone wants to have sex with children.

Not original, but well played.

Ahhh...I remember the old days when we could still get into the broadway.com board through the "back door". Those were good times. Now I want to change my avatar to a platypus for old times sake.
