I can't imagine ever sitting through that goddamned OKLAHOMA ever again. Four times in one lifetime is enough.

Likewise with that LA CAGE AUX FOLLES thing. Lame book, lame score, there's just nothing there of any interest at all. I'd be very happy if every existing copy of the book and score were to simply vanish, so we'd never be subjected to this piece of crap ever again.

I'm a bit of a cast snob, so if I've seen a completely perfect cast in a show, I will never see the thing again because I don't want to tarnish the memory of that perfect cast I saw. So... I will never see "Jersey Boys" again after the OBC which was FLAWLESS.

I will also never see "The Pillowman" or "Coast of Utopia" again because even though the material was strong, it was the casting that elevated those to such heights, and I never have a desire to have my love for those plays ruined by a subpar company.

I'm a cast snob too. I wouldn't go see Hair again because I heard the new cast was horrible, but my main concern was seeing it without Will Swenson.
I think I'll feel the same way when Mitchell Jarvis leaves Rock of Ages.

Good point with Hair-- that's a show that can VERY easily go downhill and into dark territory fast if the cast and direction isn't amazing.

Definitely. My friend saw it 2 or 3 weeks before it closed and said it was great... but she didn't see the original cast, so I was kinda iffy. One kid I knew saw the show 19 times, most of those were with the originals but he went about 5 times when the new tribe was there, and he said they were good.
I still don't understand how he could go 19 times, or afford to go that many times. XD

Phantom of the Opera. Saw it once and hated it. I waited a year and then I gave it another chance and I still hated it.

Most of the stuff I have genuinely loathed has blessedly disappeared from the public's conciousness.

The Lion King, All Shook Up (though I only saw the latter for a class), and Godspell. Sorry, I like Godspell's music, but the rest of it drives me crazy.

And, honestly, Phantom of the Opera as well
