Break a leg to all the cast! Saw this production 5 times in London (twice with Hodge) and it is just brilliant! Hope you all enjoy it whoever goes to see it.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Oh you're right Taylor! Broadwayforbrokepeople.com has it wrong. I only checked there. Oh well, thanks for correcting me on that! I would hate to have people think it started tonight. Don't you hate it when people say one thing and something else is actually true? Oh, it's the worst.

Wow, I'm flattered you go to my site first for information! I try hard to keep it accurate, but every now and then I make a mistake. I actually realized this morning that I had the wrong date, but I can't fix it until I get home to my own computer tonight.
Sorry for misleading you! The correct information will be up tonight.

I just finished making up some guy for an audition and he looked in the mirror and said, "I gotta stop by Starbucks first!"

Got a text from someone during intermission. Apparently it's pretty damn close to perfect. And "Doug Hodge isn't as good as everyone was saying he is. He's even better." Apparently he is giving "one of the best performances on Broadway in the last ten years."
I know about all the buzz, but I have zero interest in seeing this. I love Robert Goulet, Gary Beach and Gavin in the last Tony Award winning-revival.
