Word on the street is that Spider-Man is back on. I just want to beat Riedel and say this...

Probably just the usual flare up before it goes into remission again. Use the ointment.

Unless I missed something: it was never officially 'off'. So I'm not sure how this is news. I believe someone posted within the last few days that "Spiderman" himself tweeted about a spidey workout he had endured.

Even I am getting tired of this. They either need to open this piece of **** or let it die. furrealz.

It's news because THIS TIME, the show is actually going back into the theatre to continue load-in.

Well, then, THAT would have been good info for your original post.

Load in? Have the even restarted working on the sets again? They are probably working on putting the theatre itself back into working order.

This show just doesn't seem like a bway musical.

For all the money it's costing they should stage it somewhere where it can have a permanent theater and not be subjected to bway critics and the bway "musical-chairs" real estate mentality.

Something more akin to Cirque Du Soleil in Vegas.

There are set elements that have been sitting in different shops around North America. Load-in also refers to refitting the theatre/renovations/rigging/etc. that doesn't necessitate having the actual set pieces in the theatre yet.

I agree with the Cirque comment Taz.

I hope this happens. It will employ hundreds of people each night.

This show has been back on for the past few months. It only ran in to trouble once when funding fell out. They got that sorted quick and it was back on. I dont get why people keep thinking this show is off etc

I've only once ever heard the show was stalled. Since then it's been consistently "on". So rather than being news that the show is "on" (since it already was), this is more news of the load-in I guess...

I love how the contrarians on this site feel obliged to discuss the semantics of "on" versus "back on" etc. The fact of the matter is that the project was stopped and now it has started again.

This show just doesn't seem like a bway musical.

That's sort of how I felt about Lord of the Rings in London before I saw it. It was unconventional and sort of top-heavy on the visuals to be sure, but it in the end, it still felt like a musical. I get a similar sort of vibe from this show. I think it will be a hybrid, but still have enough scoring and live singing to qualify it as a musical. That's what I'm hoping, anyway. I just don't want one of those Notre Dame de Paris or Romeo and Juliet French spectaculars. They put me to sleep.

Wasn't the last date around October for opening?
I doubt they are rehearsing or loading in anything for a show 8 months away.
Does anyone know a real person who is cast and rehearsing?
And I don't mean the guy tweeting that he had a spidey workout, that could mean a trip to the Gym in a red pair of tight bike pants.

I actually think they are doing a re casting for most of the show.

Last report from Cumming was He's not sure what was going on but his costume's are amazing.
He is doing a great job now on THE GOOD WIFE.

I don't think the costume shops have resumed building from when there was a stoppage. At least that is what I gather from people who were working for them. I know the set shop here in NY was halted awhile back but I don't know if they resumed yet.

I for one, look forward to the completion of Spiderman and wish them well in the challenges they've faced -- many of which are out of their control (ie. economy!). I hope to be there when it opens and it will be great! I'm just wondering what is happening with the re-casting of Mary Jane? ...
