Chenoweth's operatic voice hurts my ears and is annoying. And it's not funny nor entertaining when she does it for "fun."
Some of these bits are entertaining, others are just annoying.
PAGING BILLY CRYSTAL!!!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The opening number was horrible. They should of done something more cabaret broadwayish. She's doing her best with what she is given. She is so cute that it's making up for how horrible the jokes are. The prerecorded parody's of movies they have been showing are really funny but the jokes at the awards are falling flat. Whoever wrote them should be shot.
I TVIO'd this and just watched it. I love Kristin, but this was horrible. Yes, the material given her was bad, but she had some adlibs that were bad.
I don't know how to say this without getting lambastaed, so I'll just say it. If she wants to make raunchy jokes, fine. But I wish she would quit talking at every opportunity how "Christian" she is. I expect it out of Sarah Silverman, but not out of Kristin's mouth. It's like she's trying to fit in, so I'll tell boob jokes, and penis jokes - jokes not written for her, she adlibbed them.
I've only watched the "screen tests" and the opening number, and it was strange. She tried, but the material in the opening number just had no hope. The writing was bad, really bad. I don't know, it just wasn't funny, nor did it seem like it tried to be, but apparently it was. The "screen tests" were ok, though, I really liked the Lovely Bones one.
She's one of my favorite singers, but I'm truly embarrassed for her. Her schtick got old years ago. Also I miss what she used to like like before all the plastic surgery and botox.
