AWESOME!!! I really hope this show stops in Chicago. It's such a great show, and extremely under-rated.

Rant, Wickud, Rant, Wickud, Rant! We're not gonna pay Rant! 'Cause everythink is Wickud!

Good for the show! So much fun--it really should have been on Broadway longer. 9 to 5: The National Tour is ON

My friend was cast in the female ensemble. 9 to 5: The National Tour is ON

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

YEAH! Hope they post more information (and more tour dates) soon! Hope they come down to Tampa or some place in Florida. If not, I guess it's a trip to ATL for me! :)

I never knew that the tour was "off." When the show closed on Broadway they announced the tour would kick-off in Nashville this fall. I have no doubt the show will do well on the road. Saw it on Broadway and hope to see it on tour.

It's on in Atlanta for a few days, so I'm guessing the set won't take too long to get down and move to another city looks like. Must be a smaller set, or non-equity?

Next season was announced for Oklahoma City tonight, and looks like "9 to 5" will be making a stop here, as well as, "Shrek", "Burn the Floor", "Beauty and the Beast", and, "The Aluminum Show". Quite excited!

That is good to hear. If it comes to my city, I think I'll take my mom to it. She loved the movie.

Yes, because the announcements of Billy Elliot and Shrek were a fanatasy that never happened.

As soon as the show was closing and the tours first stop, being Nashville, was announced, I called TPAC and got my group tickets for opening night. They said that they are very excited about this show. Granted that was about 6 months ago, but i'm not worried. :)

The show is having trouble being booked in several high-profile markets because of it's high guarantee, and predicted low ticket sales. Markets are gun shy of the show based on it's Broadway failure, it not having a star, coupled with the precident set by losses from other screen-to-stage adaptations. I know for a fact that one of the largest touring Broadway touring "A" cities flatly passed on the show - and it shocked me when I found out.

I LOVED 9 to 5 when I saw it on Broadway. Probably because I love Dolly and I felt it had a heart. However, it was not without it's flaws. I hope that they re-work certain parts dropping some of the sillyness and bringing back a song or two from the LA run. The female characters were well rounded enough, but they desperately need to work on Harts bits and the hospital scene. (The funniest part of the movie was the worst part on stage.)

I'll see it in Nashville, I am sure of that. However, not without trepidation. Broadway had a killer set... traps galore... there's no way the tour can be even remotely as scenically complex. Those visuals really filled in a ton of gaps with the show.

I wonder if this is SHN SF's mysterious 6th show.
