Agreed. She's just not doing Sundays. Maybe she has other things to do now, that did not occur when she was doing Xanadu. That said, I am a bit more interested in seeing this now.

When I saw this thread and gathered that she wasn't going to be doing all 8 performances in the week I thought that she was only doing seven and having the understudy go on for one of the performances of the week. But, six?!?!?
I am wondering if she has been aware of the potential damages that the show can do to ones voice and is just being overly cautious?

That could be true, Winston. It apparently damaged Spanger's voice.

It's a smart move on her part and kudos to her for getting that in her contract. Her voice is beautiful and I prefer she not shred it, especially when she is planning another show in the Spring hopefully.

I've always said the role should only be 6 shows a week.
Kelly Barrett only did all 8 shows twice during the OB run and Spanger only did 1 full week - when the Tony committee was coming.
Wise is the only one who's done the role consistently and it has taken its toll.
THere are plenty of roles out there that have 6-show contracts. I don't think its about stamina or whether she can "do it" or not. Its about vocal preservation and safety.

That's true, nakedmaid. Doesn't the main Christine in Phantom only do 6 shows a week? I haven't seen Rock of Ages yet, so I don't know what the vocals are like for Sherrie, except for what I have seen in bits and pieces of television performances.

I think she'll be brilliant. This is essentially Xanadu with 80s rock music.

I believe it was also in Kerry's "Xanadu" contract to have Sunday's off, to spend time with her family-- However, she felt she owed it to the people coming to see the show, so she did just about every Sunday as well-

Yeah, I thought Kerry had Sundays off in Xanadu to spend extra time with her daughter.
I'm a little excited about this news. Kerry will probably get me to see this.

Sounds like the 6 performances is a smart move on Kerry's part. Singing the crap she'll have to isn't worth the toll it takes on the voice.

Yep, she did---- she only missed a few of the Sunday shows-- Her attendance overall in "Xanadu" was pretty amazing-- and the times that she was off, she was in usually in DisneyWorld... so, basically... she rocks !!!

Also, it's not to far outside the realm of possibility that CMIYC could have an opening date by the time she leaves ROA. That day off could, also, become necessary should she be performing one show and rehearsing for another.
