White is long overdue for a return to Broadway. It's about time!
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
It's odd to think that White hasn't been in a full-on Broadway production since THE LIFE. I'm glad she's making a return to the Broadway stage. Looking forward to the full cast announcement.

Please tell me she won't have to do a lot of riffing in this part...

The full cast, including White, are now updated on the site.
Interestingly, both Sahr Ngaujah and Kevin Mambo (who was fantastic in RUINED) are listed as playing Fela.
Is Mambo going to be a matinee alternate? Considering the demands of the role, I wouldn't be surprised.

For those who are wondering, Krystal Brown is rumored to be replacing Saycon in HAIR. I actually saw Krystal Brown as Mimi 3 years ago in the 10th Anniversary RENT Tour (it was just a special name for the non-eq tour when it was touring in the 2006-2007 season). She was a fantastic Mimi, and I can only imagine how much she has improved since then.

Oh, so nice to see that Kevin Mambo is involved. I agree that he was wonderful in RUINED, though really the whole cast of RUINED is brilliant. Also nice to see Saycon Senblogh involved. I recently saw her covering for Sasha Allen in HAIR, and while she wasn't as good a Dione as Allen, her voice was pretty neat. Really looking forward to seeing this show. I hope it's able to find an audience.

Drunk Chita Rivera, Saycon's character is the American love interest for Fela.
It's definitely a featured role, though it's one of the only other principal characters in addition to Fela.
