It's unfortunate that the rumors of Sonia Freedman wanting The Circle in the Square didn't come to be.

It really is the perfect house for this exquisite production.

Considering the show's going into a Shubert house, I'd presume the earlier talk of it following OLEANNA at The Golden may now turn out to be true.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I was hoping we'd get this earlier, but that's ok! Very excited for this.

The story mentions the show is opening at a "Shubert theatre to be announced".

This is joyous news. The Mernier Chocolat Factory production was a winner. And it's a thumb in the nose to the godawful production of "Guys and Dolls" that rightfully died on Broadway recently. What a missed opportunity. They should have brought Ewan McGreggor and the Donmar production over instead.

Isn't Oleanna an open run? I feel like there are a handful of other Shubert houses that are actually available (or will be come April). The Jacobs? Cort? Lyceum? Longacre? They're all large than the Golden or Circle in the Square, but still relatively intimate.

In any case, much as I disliked the last revival, I'm excited to see the show again. Particularly if this version lives up to its hype.

They're currently selling tickets to OLEANNA through March 7th.

Because both Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles work relatively consistently in film, I presume the show will only run through then.

Guys and Gals, you are all in for a treat with this one!

Have seen this production 3 times in London now (once with Hodge) and it truely is musical theatre at its best. Hope it has a very successful run across the pond!

Saw this production in London last Spring before it hit the West End and was still playing at the Menier Chocolate Factory itself.

It was a fantastic production, and great to see in such an intimate venue. Can't wait to see it again here!

Oh this is fantastic news! I saw it just a few weeks ago with Roger Allam and Philip Quast. I loved it!

Ben Brantley was at the same performance and he seemed to have a very good time (my friend and I heard him mentioning the words 'ideal' and 'perfect' on his way out).

This one's a winner!

I hope they don't take Shrek's place at the Broadway Theatre.

EEH! *claps hands* I could not be more excited for this transfer to Broadway. I missed the 2004 revival and will make sure I don't miss this one. I hope it's as good as everyone says it is.

The Broadway is way too big for this production. Though SHREK may not make it through the Winter.

Having seen the original several times and then being disappointed (to put it mildly) with the recent revival, I'm really glad to have the opportunity to see a re-vitalized production. It will be interesting to see how this plays out during Tony time. Once again, La Cage will be competing against a Sondheim show (A Little Night Music). Will lightning strike again as it did in 1984 (La Cage versus Sunday in the Park)? The fact that that dreadful last production won, basically because there just wasn't that much competition, may work against its winning for Best Revival this go round. But the Musical Revival category is steaming up already.

I don't care for LA CAGE at all, but everyone has been saying so many good things about this production and about Doug Hodge (whose Nathan Detroit was a perfect match to Jane Krakowski's Miss Adelaide) that even I'm looking forward to it. Wonder what theatre it will take. I imagine the Golden is the most appropriate house?
Is Hodge the only one transferring?

God, I just couldn't care less. A terribly dated story, a terribly dated score, a terrible book, and a new production from the folks who botched SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE a couple of years back. I'll save my money.

"OMG I am so excited this is official! This season is all about the revivals!"

Sadly EVERY season is all about the revivals since nothing new and notable is hardly ever produced anymore.
