it certainly has that fun "hairspray" appeal. though when is Jerry mitchell going to cast some masculine looking chorus guys? the women look more butch. jeez.
this looks fantastic, butz looks especially amazing.
...everyone was doing the mambo and drinking golden cadillacs...
I actually don't like the two numbers they posted. I love "Jet Set" and "Fly Fly Away" but I'm not digging these.
I'm very impressed. It actually looks really good. I hope it makes it to Broadway. Glad Jerry is back to what he does best: choreographing Broadway shows. Not directing them.
The photo flash worried me, but THAT washed away all of my fears. This show looks fantastic!!!

Butz is amazing, but the songs don't seem nearly as clever or catchy as Hairspray's. Of course, these are just excerpts, I guess.

That is what I thought too. I can't remember them at all already.

They're fine songs, but I hope they develop the songs more and make them more clever and catchy.
But that said, this still really makes me want to see it.

It looks fun but I immediately thought "Hairspray meets last Guys and Dolls revival."

Looks great. Love the energy. The clips made me want to see it. I wish the show much success.

I'm really liking the looks of it and I'm sure it's amazing fun! But... is it just me? or is the choreography in 'Live in Living Colour' look ALOT similar to the choreography of 'Nicest Kids in Town' stage version????

Sure, the numbers are great when you don't have to suffer through Terrence McNally's abysmal, lazy, and thoroughly problematic book and Jack O'Brien's pedestrian direction.
It looks fun and the songs were good. I also love Goodbye. Definitely felt like I was watching Hairspray. I hope this transfers.

What's up with that billing on the montage clip?
Tom Wopat is above the title, Kerry Butler gets a featured credit, and Tveit and Butz are nowhere to be found?

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

The show looks desperate and bankrupt at the same time.
Yeah, it seemed like they were cut off.
Norbert Leo Butz looks fantastic in that clip. The music doesn't really appeal to me, but Butz reminds me of older stars like Michael Jeter in that clip, he's great.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Loving NLB's energy, as usual, but I have to say all the clips left me pretty dry. Nothing I felt really interested in.
