"Yes, I remember the Spider-man Musical"

"Oh! Devin!"

That made me laugh.

The garbage truck at the very end was the icing on the cake. You see all these New Yorkers dining under scaffolding in 33 degree weather some with views of garbage bins or homeless people sleeping....but I give them credit for being troopers and supporting the restaurants!

Bump 12/12/2020. When Timothee Chalamet  says he was raised in Midtown in an arts apartment building, is he referring to Manhattan Plaza? If I am correct it would have been a fun building to be raised in. Does anyone know?

According to Wikipedia, yes.

I really enjoyed last night's show. It wasn't fall on the floor funny but I laughed a lot. The rap sketch was too funny.

The Dionne Warwick Show really had me rolling. I hope that becomes a new regular character.

Bump.....There is a new Joe Biden in town who might turn out to be more lovable.

Very happy with the new Biden. Also thought the show as a whole last night was terrific. I was praying we’d get a new Penelope skit, but sadly that didn’t happen. Otherwise my favorite part of the year is when Michael and Colin write those jokes for each other to read - I always end up in tears from laughing.

Moffat got the role because Carrey didn't want to do it anymore. He was excellent last night. Great episode!

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Carrey's Biden just didn't do it for me. I mean, he was fine, but not enough of a natural fit to make it worth taking the opportunity away from a regular cast member, so I was happy to see Alex Moffat get to tackle it.

And, like Jordan, I live for the joke swap on Weekend Update. That Scarlett Johansson one they ended with was priceless.

Yes, that Johannson joke was priceless.

I got the feeling the people that were there were not familiar with Wiig's "Sue" character. The response when it started was not as big as I expected.

Also, did it seem that there were more people in the studio audience then there has been since the season started? Just sounded fuller and the few glimpses I saw seemed like more seats were full.

Evidently, Jim is rumored to have quit at short notice out of objection to the vaccine sketch (he’s an anti-vaxxer). This is also why Pete Davidson did not appear at all except in the Grinch sketch, as it was supposed to be Carrey’s SNL swan song cameo. Pete had to fill in instead and you could tell he wasn’t really into being the Grinch.

Most current articles I have found about this are Carrey vehemently denying this allegation. This whole thing sounds a little conspirational so hopefully you aren't making it up.

The Carrey anti-vax thing has always been sort of vague, and he’s distanced himself from it but has not spoken out publicly in favor of the new vaccine. But something seemed off- the tumble Mikey Day awkwardly pulled off like Willy Wonka and the “I’ll look different every time” all garnered lots of notice on Reddit as hints that this was a last minute sub job for Carrey.

Carrey took up the anti-vaxx banner when he was dating Jenny McCarthy, and when they broke up,he claimed to have distance himself from it,as you said. I hope so. She's a kook.

I just figured Jim had contracted to play the part through the election. And then was moving on to something else. I think Moffat will grow with it. He is so likable that he will put an endearing spin on the character.

I read in several places prior to Saturday's show that Jim was only contracted to do it for a certain time, the time had ended and he did not want to continue doing it.

Why don’t they just make Maya a cast member?

She might not want to come back permanently. She did 7 years on the show and she lives on the West Coast.

If they hadn’t changed the meaning of the term around 2000, Maya would be known as a Featured Player. The term used to refer to contractually recurring guest stars like Steve Martin or Michael O’Donoughue who were functionally cast members but not constantly present. Now it refers to new performers being tested out by the show as a minor league.

The Murder Durder sketch was very funny. 5/8/21. Making fun of the confusing accents in Mare of Easttown.
