Just finished The Queen's Gambit, and it's the best thing I've watched in quite some time, with Anya Taylor-Joy giving an absolutely knockout performance. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I somehow am caught up with 2 Mexican drug cartel soap operas--El Dragon with the very handsome Sebastian Rulli and the other 'Enemigo/Intimo'. Fortunately both not dubbed[which I HATE] and excellent sub-titles.

If they ever get that far in The Crown to Willian and Kate then they have the perfect actress in Fernanda Castillo from Enemigo/Intimo for Kate---worry about her accent if it happens but she is a perfect double[even in her prison clothes !]..

I keep changing between the 2 shows and thoroughly confuse myself but if any of this is like what goes on around drug distribution[and prisons], I'll stay with my drug of choice, coffee.

I know it's an oldie. but I'm just discovering Dexter. I'm doing a one-per-night binge watch. Just starting season 3 now. I find it very gripping. I kind of get a kick out of rooting for a serial killer.
The good thing about CORONA isolation, I'm through all the new TV series and digging back into things I never got around to.

Dexter is amazing the first five seasons. But, that's it. The last 3 seasons will make you sad and the last season? Nah. Don't even bother.

I hope the revival erases a few things that happened because....Jesus.

Just finished and highly recommend The Queens Gambit and Last Tango in Halifax.  
 

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square was so cheesy that you just have to go for it.  You get Christine Baranski too so who cares. Debbie Allen directs so there are many dance numbers and lots of twirls.  Dolly plays a homeless woman and chief angel.  The plot is playbook predictable but I actually had fun watching it.  It really is somewhat of a bad hoot.

Trying “The Queen’s Gambit.” But the first episode didn’t really grip me. But loved the best friend character.

Binged the new season of “Odd Mom Out” on Peacock. Lots of NYC actors! And “The Flight Attendant” on HBO Max.

i would recommend Unforgotten.  There are three seasons available now on Amazon Prime.  Suspenseful and I got attached to the two lead detectives Cassie and Sunny.  It is British so I turned on closed captions which made it mush easier to understand.  Looking forward to season 4.

Keep going with Queen's gambit! I thought the same after the 1st ep but I continued and I am very glad I did

Re: The Queen's GambitYou can always fast forward thru some of the actual chess matches, while the cinematography is absolutely stunning, it can be a tad tedious for many.   The pay off is incredible.

I just binged "Stylish" on HBO Max. It's like Project Runway meets the Apprentice if you like that sort of thing. I thought the main woman - Jenna Lyons - was just such a sweetheart. One contestant has her luggage lost and Jenna just lets her go into closet and get some clothes.

Just finished watching Mank .It was,a docudrama,about Herman,Mankiewicz co writing Citizen Kane with Wells .Probably best if you see movie first. I dvr it but never watched it.Gary Oldman plays title role. It is,a great character study about this guy .

Realize this not a series but easier than starting a whole new thread on it.You should enjoy it .It is fascinating

Wait. Are you saying you never watched Citizen Kane or you didn't rewatch it before Mank.  We rewatched CK the night before Mank premiered. Mank is no Citizen Kane but that Amanda Seyfried is a remarkable Marion Davies.

HBO Max's limited series Veneno, based on the life of Spain's trans icon Cristina "La Veneno" Ortiz, is fantastic, with some of the best acting I've seen this year. It's a must-see, but make sure to watch the original Spanish with subtitles, not the horrible dubbed version.

Alice in Borderland is a riveting social commentary, think Saw meets Hunger Games. It is fantastic.

I enjoy lots of the shows on AcornTV and Britbox ... Agatha Raisin is a fun one, as is Rosemary and Thyme and I loved all 10 season of Vera.

How could anyone HATE Dash? I watched The Fight Attendant and liked it. My critical barometer has been lowered during Covid. And that is ok. Although I thought the directing for The Prom was weak.
