My favorite is out. For some reason, I dislike Scotty even more right now...dunno why, but I'm aiming my anger/disappointment at him. He's clearly gonna win the whole thing.

"Jennifer Hudson all over again. I definitely thought she'd get to at least top 2."
^That's EXACTLY what's being said all over facebook. None of us really expected her to (or necessarily even wanted her to) win, but everyone thought she would get really far.
That vote was BS! The judges should never haved saved Casey! Pia could've won the whole thing. Casey will not win! Only teenage girls vote and all they care about are good looking guys. This show is a joke! Updated On: 4/7/11 at 10:15 PM
I didn't think anything could be more ridiculous on a reality tv show than Bristol Palin making it to the finals over Brandy, Audrina Patridge, and Rick Fox.
I like Scotty, he has a large fan base and will be around awhile.
I don't understand why Stefano is still around. He's not bad, but the fact that Pia was voted off before him (and still early in the competition) is appalling.
However, this may be a blessing in disguise. Aside from Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, what American Idol winner has actually had an extremely successful career? The people you usually hear about are the runners-up (Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert, Daughtry). Pia will probably get a record deal by the end of the month. The fact that she lost has gotten her even more attention. I was pretty sure she would be in the top two or three.

Pia will not be able to sign any contracts for the next year and 19 Entertainment will not allow her to release an album before the winner's album is released.
I also never liked the idea of Jennifer Lopez being a judge because when she was a mentor back in season six she overpriased the contestants who were not so great. Steven Tyler seems like he has no desire to be there. Continuing the show without Simon Cowell was a big mistake. You cannot have three judges who like every single contestant and performance. You need someone who has to tell the truth. Kara DioGuardi also should not have been let go off because at least she was honest at times. Updated On: 4/8/11 at 02:06 PM
It seems my girl Pia already signed a record deal and they're rushing to get her into the studio to release a CD. Hmmm I thought someone said she had to wait a year before signing a contract and also wait until the winner released their first CD? Not according to this...
Pia can't sign a contract that is not connected with American Idol. Interscope will release the winner's album as well. They probably realize that since her elimination was such a shocker that it would be better for the brand to get an album out as quickly as possible.
In the past, none of the runner-up's albums have dropped before the winners.
StockardFan pointed out the Daughtry's album came out before Taylor Hicks' album. That's probably because Daughtry is a band and not just Chris Daughtry as a solo act.
I suppose as long as the producers of American Idol stand to make a profit they can do whatever they want.
to say that the voting is messed up is ridiculous.
The public votes for their FAVORITE not for the best. AI has always stated this. It's a popularity contest. Sob stories and sex appeal will always win. The majority of voters are young and female.
True talent has very little to do with it. They are making a "star" not necessarily an artist.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
