RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE - ALL STARS#101

Oye that episode.  First, RuPaul's outfit on the runway was hideous.  The color...the pattern.  And her shoulder.  It looked like an infected hump.  I couldn't stop staring at it.  If one of the queens had worn that, Michelle would have read them for filth.  The improv challenge, to me, just wasn't funny.  I laugh more at the comments left on here, by many of you, then what I just sat through.  Even the confessionals tonight, were kind of stale.  The very first episode of the season was so fukin entertaining.  It's just gotten duller as the season progresses.

What a painful episode. Deeply, deeply unfunny. You would have had to wring that one hard to find the humor in it, because yikes.

That being said, what little juice you’d get was all thanks to Cracker and Juju, but particularly Cracker, who was 100% driving that team’s ship. Her runway was just okay, but it was a pretty solid runway overall.

This season, you guys. What a weird vibe. It’s a little like milk that you don’t realize has gone bad until you’re a couple spoonfuls into the cereal. Something is just off about it. The drama feels particularly manufactured and also has a noticeable spotlight. This is mostly due to the usual format of having a built-in Untucked episode like previous All Stars season, plus the additional full-length Untucked episode. So it almost feels more like a backstage drama show than a reality competition drag show. It’s clearly been making this shift more and more since the transition to VH1, but this season is relying a liiiiiiittle too heavily on it and it’s just not sitting right.

I hope the Snatch Game rights the ship next week, because this has been a real dud to watch every week after the excellent season 12.

The comedy bits this season are by and large torturously unfunny, and last night's SheMZ was no exception.  Watching India lick donuts and broken glass has to qualify as some kind of low point in the series -- a funnier queen might have made it hilarious, but it just didn't happen.

Not sure I see why it was a double win, based on that lip-sync, where I thought Morgan McMichaels outclassed Cracker.  Did the producers want to toss Cracker some encouragement before she crashed and burned?

Hoping the Snatch Game Dating Game brings some laughs.  Only Jujube seems particularly gifted in bringing the verbal wit.

I totally forgot about the lip sync! The only reason I can find for a double win is that they were both so chaotic, unfocused, and forgettable that Ru couldn’t pick a winner. Or she knew they both had Mayhem and wanted to twist the knife. Either way, that lip sync was a damn mess. Cracker’s cartwheel was almost as bad as Monique’s in season 10 and the highlight of Morgan’s performance was that cape twirl which... isn’t very Rihanna.

I'm also incredibly disappointed with this season, especially after a terrific season 12 which was probably the best since season 6.

I haaaaate the lip-sync assassin twist, it's way too over complicated and completely interrupts the flow of each episode. It also feels like with each all stars, the lip-sync is taking more and more attention off who lands in the bottom 2. Think of the Alexis vs Yara lip sync on season 3 which must have been a reality tv producers wet dream. Instead now we're lumped with a random queen from a previous season who has absolutely nothing at stake in the competition and shows up and vanishes again within the space of 2 minutes.

I hope they wait a few years before another all stars season although they could easily make up half the cast with queens from season 12 - Heidi, Crystal, Gigi, Widow. Throw them in with Asia, Tammie, Acid Betty, Nina BoNina Brown, Darienne... sounds great to me!

I personally love the lip-sync assassin. It’s All Stars, make everyone vote, make as much drama as possible! Make the Queens play the game. That having been said the SheMZ sketches were ROUGH!

I have no real problem with the season. There have been better and worse seasons. Coming right off of 12, which was a phenomenal season, of course this group are a let down. But hardly one of the worst seasons.

The queens are all of a pretty good quality, though there IS the absence of a real comedy queen. I like Jujube, but I don't find her funny. She's drag queen sassy, but not witty or clever, just sassy. And her drag is off the rack. I really like Cracker so I'm looking forward to last night's episode.

Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

I really like Cracker also.  But why is she wearing that pink coat over and over again?  In next week's episode, she is wearing it again.  I would have thought many queens don't like to be seen wearing the same getup multiple times.

It's just a branding thing which she has adopted for her boy look this season. Plenty of queens do it. In Cracker's case, she's just wearing the hell out of it and making it a... piece. I like it, it's cute. Wouldn't be surprised if she drops a single titled "pink fur" or something.

I'm low-key mad that Blair is still here. I don't find the season bad, but it does seem quite stale when it comes to actual challenges.

Oh, makes sense.  Thanks for the info.  She said she has gained 35 pounds.  Although her hips are wider I don't really see all that weight gain on her tiny frame.  If she did, it went in only one spot.  I have read on another site, many people putting down her shape and stating how deformed her body is.  And that was before the weight gain.  I don't see that at all either.  On the rare side I seem her in boy wear, without the pink coat, she still looks thin to me.  So are the larger hips, padding or her?

I don't mind this season. Am I excited? No. But it's kind of nice to not have "front runner. " In Bob or Bianca's seasons you knew they were going to win. So, in this, I really don't know who is going to win. I mean, I'm team Shea, but she's been bumpy. So, yeah, I'm curious to see what happens.

Did the right queen go home tonight?  I was expecting Cracker or Blair to be in the bottom two, not everyone that was the winner of "Snatch Game".  I am rooting for Shea and Jujubee to be the final two...I could care less about everyone else.

Yeah India was awful and how many times can you be in the bottom before getting the boot? And Cracker wasn’t awful she just wasn’t very good. But that runway look is why I love her so much.

Alexis Mateo posting “Roll the tapes!” on social media tonight makes me think she’s telling the truth because they know there’s video to back this stuff up. But really I thought Alexis should have won. And also - enough of doing men on Snatch Game!

I love Cracker - but even on her YouTube series I find her too much and trying too hard to be funny. She is funny, but then why doesn't she excel at the comedy challenges? It's interesting. But I like her a lot, and think maybe she is just better at being off the cuff than delivering a character.

I'm into this season. I think we've arrived at the point where it gets interesting because everyones left is talented.

If India was been truthful, she could have brought it up long time ago. Not when she was at the bottom for the fourth time and about to leave.

The only thing this did, was ruining Alexis' chance to win.

Sorry to Pooh Pooh Alexis’ performance with so many fans here, but I thought Juju was the absolute winner of the Snatch Game hands down with Shea a close second and no one else anywhere near their league. We just guffawed with everything coming out of Juju’s mouth.

She and Shea are the only two in contention for the crown— all the rest are Cannon fodder at this point. I’m still Team Shea for the win due to her consistently stunning runway looks, where Jujubee can only muster second place.

Alexis' best moments as Mercado were mean little putdowns of India -- she never delivered the astrological jokes she said she was going to center on, and the one joke she did in the workroom was a particularly tired jest about Uranus.  She did nothing to equal Jujube's inspired riff on Eartha Kitt.

I'm okay with the queens doing men on Snatch Game, as long as they're outlandish outsized men with outlandish outsized personas like Mercado and Flav.  Basically, to paraphrase Anna Russell, they can do whatever they want, as long as they're FUNNY.

I'll be interested to see where the whole India thing goes.  Was she lying, or did she just misunderstand something that was said?  Can't say I care, as long as she's gone.  Her only significant moment on the show was being picked up bodily by Mimi Imfurst.

1. India Ferrah is a mediocre drag queen. 2. India Ferrah was the worst this week, and deserved to go home. 3. India Ferrah was chosen to go home. Not exactly a recipe for great television, is it?

This season would be far more interesting to me if the eliminations were strategic or unexpected, rather than obvious. That's what made All Stars 2 so good. In addition to having higher quality queens in general, the Rolaskatox situation raised the stakes considerably, and added tons of drama. Was I annoyed that Roxxxy made it to the finals? Sure, but I was never bored getting there.

Other thoughts:

Cracker's Gaga was almost as bad as Phi Phi's.

The lip sync was horrible. The fact that Shea won $10,000 for it is embarrassing. I'd like to see an actual lip sync assassin, because Vanjie isn't one of them.

Blair's runway looks are on a different level than everyone else's. It's a shame that her acting skills aren't quite there yet, because she could have been a real contender otherwise.

Also, the whole “drama” last night about maybe or maybe not trying to get someone out - isn’t that the entire point of doing it this way? The fact it’s such a “scandal” that players might be playing the game is silly.

The problem with the lipsync assassin is that there is nothing at stake for them. They have nothing to win or lose, except exposure, I suppose. Alyssa lip-syncing for her life was very different than Alyssa coming in as a lipsync assassin. Perhaps it would have been better if the assassin could get the $10,000 if they won? I don’t know.

I want to see Kameron come in to assassinate.

At least, the time went by faster, than previous episodes.  Shea and JuJu were the best.  And they both made me laugh.  (With Shea on top).  I believe India, but found the timing of her reveal questionable.  Alexis just came across in her body language and eye contact as someone who was not telling the complete truth.  Michelle looked really good in this episode.  Her makeup and hair were flawless. She looked 10 years younger.  I wonder if the same person does it weekly.

JuJu’s Eartha Kitt was brilliant , that line about the thermostat was really laugh out loud funny. She should have one.
