Marja Harmon has been promoted from a Schuyler Sister Standby to full time Angelica.  I've only seen her on as Eliza, so I am curious to hear her voice in this role.

Charlotte Mary Wen, formerly Elsa in the Frozen Musical at Disney's CA Adventure, has joined the cast as a Swing and has already gone on as Peggy.

There are three other Swings that have joined as well.

According to the website, Ashley De La Rosa is the new Peggy/Maria. Very excited that Marja  Harmon got promoted; she was a wonderful Eliza.

Check out Akron Watson’s instagram story — I guess he’s filling in in SF for a bit?

I think I might’ve missed his story. Wonder if he’s going from Chicago to SF ??‍♂️

Donald Webber is doing a world premiere with Signature Theater in Virginia (Gun & Powder lead by Emmy Raver Lampman and Solea Pfeiffer), so Akron departed Chicago a bit early and will be with the San Francisco company until early March as Burr.

Last night was the final performance for Julia Harriman, Simon Longnight, and Ruben Carbajal. Julius Thomas also announced on Instagram he is out on vacation through January 12.

Oh nice! Heard he's great. Looks like three actors are covering Hamilton while Thomas is on vacation. I'll report back on who we end up getting :)

This is so exciting. For 1/11, looks like every major role will be either a new addition to the cast, or a cover of some kind. The energy will be through the roof!

So by my count this week sf has new performers in for all three sisters, Possibly a new Laurens and Jefferson, a Standby Hamilton, and a temporary replacement for Burr. By my count, Washington, Mulligan/Madison and King George will all be on, right? Am I missing anything?

Andy Tofa is the new Laurens/Phillip in S.F. He was an ensemble member of one of the touring companies and covered the role.

The actor playing Lafayette also left the show this past Sunday. At least per Insta, his picture and name are still up on the website.

Also noticed that Trey Curtis’s name is no longer up either, it was just the other day. ??‍♂️

I think the website cast list is kind of messy right now with all the transitions.  Not all new cast members are listed yet, old cast members aren't immediately removed.  However, Trey should still be there.  According to Julius's Instagram, he is one of the people covering Hamilton while he is on vacation.

He’s not on the website yet, but the playbill lists Paris Nix is the new Lafayette/Jefferson in San Francisco. I don’t know if he’s actually started yet or not, I’m seeing understudy Vincent Jamal Hooper in the role today.

Did you wind up doing TodayTix rush? I haven’t used it for Hamilton, but every time I’ve used it at the Golden Gate I’ve gotten side Mezzanine. My Ham4Ham lottery seats were in the Balcony. I notice that BroadwaySF is not currently selling Balcony seats for Hamilton through May, so I expect rush tickets should be pretty decent. Heck, I don’t think there’s really a bad seat at the Orpheum since the Mezz and Balcony rakes are so modest and offer decent leg room. Enjoy today!

I'm taking another of my theatre groups to the show 4/17. When it first opened groups sales sold us center balcony seats for $110. In April we'll have side mezzanine (starting in row D) for just $60. San Fransissyco is so lucky to have these discounts.

Message me should you care to join our group.

I did indeed and was put in what seemed to be an empty lottery seat in the first row.

the balcony at the Orpheum has been curtained off, not sure when that happened.

The Balcony was sold through January 5 shows, but it hasn’t been offered in the latest block through May 31.

if you’ve seen the And Peggy Company in the past, what are your thoughts on the new cast relative to the original?

I hesitate to review a cast in their first week of performance, especially because I had understudies for Hamilton, Angelica and Lafayette. The newbies are promising but the chemistry hasn't quite gelled yet.      Act Two, as a result, felt longer than it did the last time I saw this production.

Akron Watson is a Burr who plays his cards closer to the chest than any I have seen. It's harder than ever to know what he's thinking. He's got a beautiful, slightly husky voice, but on the whole I preferred Donald Webber (well, actually I preferred Joshua Henry but who wouldn't?) Victoria Ann Scovens sings beautifully but she doesn't get to the emotional extremes of Eliza easily (Or maybe was just pacing herself on her second-ever two-show day in the part). Burn didn't quite...burn, if you know what I mean. Her best work was in the epilogue, which was beautifully delivered.  Andy Tofa is a really adorable Philip and a very lovable John Laurens, and Ashley de la Rosa burns the place down in "say no to this" (Her Peggy isn't as fun as Darilyn Castillo's deadpan snark in the role but that seems like a REALLY churlish complaint.)

As for the understudies: I got standby Deaundre' Woods as Hamilton and he was incredibly convincing as the brash young revolutionary in Act I but struggled with the transition into the grieving father in act II. Especially because Julius Thomas' take on the character is really emotionally raw/prone to tears, Woods' more stoic approach felt more muted. It is unfair, perhaps, to directly compare them but, well, they're doing the same role in the same production. Vincent Jamal Hooper was a magnetic Lafayette but didn't quite make Jefferson the scene-stealer he needs to be. Not for lack of trying, but as an understudy he was clearly locked into Simon Longnight's take on the material and doesn't quite have the same sense of timing. I'd be interested to see him in the other roles he covers; I feel like he'd be more successful as Burr or Hamilton. Rebecca E. Covington was on as Angelica and gave the most dramatically vivid, desperate rendition of Satisfied I've heard live. She really brought her A-Game.

As for the cast members I saw twice: I LOVE what Brandon Armstrong does with Madison and Mulligan, it's a terrific spin on the character. Darnell Abraham has the perfect bearing for Washington and his voice his gorgeous; his diction drives me crazy. Rick Negron, who I didn't quite love in my first viewing of this cast in November, really benefited from a second viewing as King George. I enjoy that he plays the role with real gravitas and command, which allows the song's insipidity to shine through.

A couple of stray casting things reflected upthread: Trey Curtis IS still with the show, he's now listed as a Hamilton understudy as well as the three revolutionary tracks he was already covering. Charlotte Mary Wen is not listed in the program; can't tell if that's an oversight or if she has opted not to be credited (swings sometimes do not choose to be, I guess?)

Planning a trip to Yosemite NP for early September - does anyone think Hamilton will extend again that far? Or is something else already planned to replace it in San Francisco?

There’s been no official word but my guess would be Hamilton will possibly extend one more time through the summer before departing. September is a question mark

Agreed. Broadway SF booked its entire 2019-2020 season at the Golden Gate, which takes us through “Mean Girls.” That closes Aug 2, so BSF left open plans to keep Hamilton at least through July if it continues to meet financial plans. Until it reveals the 2020-2021 season (or announces a new block) we can’t tell whether it could extend beyond August. I was honestly surprised, given the discounting that started in the Fall, that the Spring extension happened. But everyone must still be making money, which makes me happy to have Hamilton around for another five months.

Thank you. That’s what I thought, but the BSF app shows MFL starting April 5 (but running through Aug 30). I chose to believe the starting date mistakenly.
