Too few people are gonna come despite the big fanfare that “Broadway’s Back!!” The shows aren’t gonna make enough $$$ to make their weekly nut, and 1 by 1 they’re gonna start closing. It’s sad. And where are the producers gonna get the $$$ for new shows? It’s all scary"

Your premise is not a realistic one, so your conclusion of course isn't either. There is never going to be a wholesale reopening of Broadway, though of course there will be a best effort at declaring Broadway back. It is likely to be only a handful of shows, and some shows will not come back at all. Producers are not in the business of testing the waters; they will come back when they feel their show(s) can make enough and survive (subject as always to the fact that some shows fail). Producers have money lined up for new shows, but are not going to spend it in a way that will scare you. I expect, as I long have, that we will see some shows come back in the Fall with maybe 1-2 jumping the gun a little. As long as there is a market, new shows are ready to go, but no one is going to finance a loss on purpose.

She did? Oh that sucks. And what also sucks is Hogan being condescending and dismissive of other people opinions as usual. Do U not work and just troll this site? Actually, I don’t care.
Anyway, I hope bway comes back stronger than ever!!

I do not always agree with Hogan but he is pretty much on target.  Producers aren't just sitting twiddling their thumbs. Some may make bad decisions and a few shows could close. I also agree that there will not be a wholesale re-opening. Too many logistics involved with all of the shows. And should any show close, you can bet there are shows ready to come in and take theaters. I still also think we will see a bigger return of patrons than a lot of people expect. But that is just my opinion.

And actually you must care what Hogan does because you took the time to comment on it and also post something that had nothing to do with the subject matter of this thread. For whatever reason.

Just give the world Love.

@Victor There was nothing condescending or dismissive in what I wrote. What I said was that your premise is wrong, because in my opinion it is. I explained why. You are free to hold whatever opinion you want, but I do not think it is fair to suggest that others have to buy into your opinion. Rather than expect that, I would much prefer if you would engage: tell us why you think every show will reopen in some grand splash, without regard to economics or markets; tell us why producers would throw away huge sums of money on doing that. Regarding your comment about producers having the money to open new shows, no response was not an opinion, it is a fact. If you dispute that, let us hear from you. But please do not think that you can post something on a public message board and not be challenged. That's not right. Finally, I am pleased to report (not that it is your business) that I am very gainfully employed and actually spend much less time here than you seem to think. PS, maybe look up the meaning of "troll" before you use the term.
