"Didn't you say you were done with this site two months ago and weren't going to post anymore? Dude. It's almost 11. Go to bed."

You are right and I figured I would give you all a chance again to be decent human beings, guess I was wrong. Sorry, I stay up past midnight -lol.

" ETA: do you disagree about the parade?"

Of course at this time there should be no parade. I will admit I enjoy it and will miss it.

"You know...in the bigger scheme of things...WHO CARES. If you don't like a particular poster or his/her comments, here's a suggestion...DON'T READ THEM. Skip it. There are plenty comments on here, on a daily basis, that I skip right through, because I detest the poster. It is obvious that some of you, enjoy, cherish, and live for the trashing of the individual more so then the comments that were actually posted. That says more about you then the person you so strongly want to bring down, tear apart or in at least in one instance, can't wait for him to die. Really sad and shameful."

All I will say is that for people like Jorge who are hoping we die soon, someday you will get old and I hope people don't say the same thing about you and your generation.

Good and me too. Here's why I asked: while the ageism we have discussed is inexcusable, let's analyze what Roxy is advocating, a carrying-on of the parade as normal. So mommies and daddies take the little ones to see it, and they will remember it for the rest of their lives. But some of them will be infected as a result. And then, in the afternoon, they will all have a thanksgiving dinner, to which their grannies and gramps are invited. That infection passes from some of the little ones to the elders who may end up in the hospital and even dying. In Roxy's (I suspect made-up) world, letting old people die so young people can have their enjoyment is fine and dandy. Who's the ageist now? (Ya know, even assuming Roxy is not just a poseur, just because one is in a category does not mean they cannot be ageist/racist/homophobic/etc.)

In all seriousness, I used to enjoy Roxy's post and his private messages to me. They were thoughtful and kind. But, the last year or two he's just a different person. I understand seniors being scared and isolated through this entire thing, and the media not helping. When my Grandmother became a widow, she would just self isolate for weeks at a time, and because she lost her remote and she loved Glee, she would only be watching Fox News. Things got really weird for a minute but then she moved in to a very fancy assisted living facility, where she got to be social and feel joy again. My point is, she made the choice to stop living like that, and be out in the world again.

Perhaps Roxy is an isolated, scared senior who only reads the NY Post and watches Fox News. If you rely on those two things for your information, the world is a terrifying, horrible place. People don't just turn cruel overnight though, which is where the mystery about him lies. Not caring about others, choosing to be miserable, getting mad about a parade being canceled, being bitter about Times Square being dead, etc. is just very strange behavior. And, when he wrote that he possibly could have the Coronavirus, people who are not friendly with him on here extended their well wishes. They didn't have to chose kindness, but they all did. It's odd he chooses not to do that, day after day. He should be grateful he didn't die from this, like so many others have. So other people, including myself, had a visceral reaction to his comments which is perfectly valid and reasonable.
