I haven't seen Hadestown, so I'm having a hard time understanding why Why We Build The Wall would be perceived as an anti-Trump song.  I don't know how it is staged, but from listening to it, it seems like those on that side of the political spectrum would endorse the words of the song and the "strength" of Hades singing it. (Recall, how Reagan and his ilk thought of Born in the USA).  Or is it just because Hades is leading it? Or do y'all think the Trump people equate Hades with the "devil" or "Satan"?  Yes, I know many Trump supporters are snowflakes and see insult/attack/aspersion where it doesn't exist.

In the context of the show, Why We Build the Wall doesn't feel like a political statement, but out of context it feels like nothing BUT a political statement.

After the Experience on Kelly & Ryan, I'm of the opinion that Way Down Hadestown doesn't feel like much without the staging/descent.

Living it Up on Top works well enough, but they've already done it several times. That number is out there for anyone interested in the show.

Epic III would be powerful, but it probably gives too much away.

On that note, I realize it would be give away one of the most magical moments I've ever experienced in a theatre and that it doesn't highlight mot of the nominated performers, but Wait For Me would be an incredible number for the Tonys, and it would sell the show as the poetic triumph it is. But maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part, as I would LOVE to see it again.

On LIVE AT FIVE last night, Kelli O'Hara said she has chosen not to perform and will introduce the dancing ensemble (presumably for Too Darn Hot).

There is a lift at Radio City and if they wanted to use it I’m sure they could and do Livin’ It Up on Top into Way Down Hadestown. I can’t see why using that lift wouldn’t be possible. At Live with Kelli and Ryan they didn’t have a lift.

I keep thinking about how electric the Comet performance was 2 years ago, and if that was put together by Rachel Chavkin, then I expect great things from Hadestown this year.
"

I was on stage with them thatyear. And Rachel was with us at all the rehearsals. So yes :)
"

I was there too!  Yes, Rachel was very much responsible for that amazing performance and I have no doubt in my mind that she will come up with something incredible for the Hadestown performance that will completely capture the entire essence of the show.

Bumping. Any confirmations on who's performing what? Anyone know of The Cher Show or Pretty Woman are performing?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

The Cher Show is definitely performing.

I have heard that Oklahoma is doing "Cain't Say No" and the title song.

Patrick Page shared an image of tony rehearsals, and in it the fates are holding lanterns (which they do only in Wait for me, wait for me reprise, and doubt comes in).

My money is on a melody, part of which is Wait for Me Reprise. They've been using that number quite a bit to advertise the show.

It seems to be clear that all of the shows are performing in the opening number in some capacity, so I'm trying to take any rehearsal tidbits with a grain of salt. (Like the Fates and their lanterns... don't know if that's for the Hadestown performance or the opening.) Exciting either way!

Assuming Erivo is doing In Memoriam if she's just being announced as a special performer.

The only real surprises here are that Pretty Women isn't performing (and neither is BMC but that's not shocking), but Choir Boy IS performing.

I assume Shirley Jones will be introducing Oklahoma!, which is a really nice touch.

ETA: I just noticed Catherine O'Hara's name on the list. I hope she breaks out that Delia drag when she introduces Beetlejuice.

Choir Boy! What a thrill! I thought those step numbers were hugely dynamic and among the most impressive moments on the Broadway stage this year.

I figured Be More Chill would try to get a slot to highlight their score nomination, but it's also understandable that they wouldn't want to pay as much as the spot costs. I'd be curious whether Pretty Woman even tried to get a slot or not since they were the only running show without noms.

I am so, so, SO excited for Choir Boy, and especially for Jeremy Pope!

Rob McClure (Adam Maitland in Beetlejuice) posted a photo of Beetlejuice's Tony rehearsal at RCMH, and the coffin in the background all but confirms that they're going to be doing The Whole Being Dead Thing in the same way they did it on The Today Show.

I'm kicking myself that I didn't see Choir Boy when I was in New York in February, so this is great news. Maybe some regional productions will start popping up in the next year or so?

From the looks of John Krause's Insta story, we're getting Wait for Me.  I aspire to be the level of petty found in the Hadestown cast and creative team.

After seeing almost the whole ensemble post on their Instagram stories with Santino and something about the red dress quick change, it seems like Tootsie is most likely doing "Unstoppable."

Out of the main cast of "Hadestown" (Orpheus, Eurydice, Persephone, Hades, Hermes), Reeve Carney was the only one not to be nominated for a Tony Award. "Wait For Me" is one of Carney's big numbers.

I don’t find that petty at all. He’s showcased, and he’s getting paid double salary for his performance. I’d be thankful.

Wait For Me is their like BIG number in the show. He just happens to sing it. And I'm not entirely convinced that it's gonna be Wait for Me I. They did Wait for Me II on CBS Saturday morning that featured the whole company. And since we know the full company IS a part of the performance for Tonys (Patrick Page instagram storied from an early rehearsal). I would not be shocked to see some kind of mashup between the two. Starting with Wait for Me I but finishing with the workers and Eva's part from Wait for Me II. That belt of hers is quickly becoming an iconic part of their advertising videos.

When Once on This Island performed Mama Will Provide, (albeit mashed up with Waiting for Life) I personally saw it as them saying Alex should've been nominated.
