Where's this generations Gower Champion?
This needs a strong musical comedy director if it's ever going to work in today's age.
Also, this needs GAGA if it's ever going to work today.
Jessie Muller's a nice thought but the Carousel Revival was stacked with Broadway "stars" and look how it did.
You need a S*T*A*R as Fanny. So ***S***T***A***R***, no production.
It's gotta be Gaga or they shouldn't waste their time.
Also, Sher does well with musical drama classics. I don't think Funny girl would be that great with him.

Sara's score sold Waitress. As much as I love Jessie...it was not her that set that show up to be the success that is has been.

Jessie would be great but would she sell?
What about Idina or Lea? If we want a FUNNY girl, Rachel Bloom?

The mere suggestion renders me suicidal.

Who's paying for this? I haven't seen/heard anything about any producers attached to this (though I imagine if Gaga came out and publicly said she wanted to do Funny Girl on Broadway the money wold materialize very quickly).
This continues to seem like wishful thinking on Rosie's part, possibly to use this as some sort of comeback vehicle.
My name is neither "adam" nor "greer."

I had Rachel Shukert on my Barbra podcast 'Hello, Gorgeous' and we talked about a Funny Girl revival and I brought up Jessie Mueller because she's always been my first choice. But Rachel said no because she isn't Jewish and thinks that's essential for whoever plays the role in terms of identity of the character and story. After considering that, I think she's may be right.

I use to think "YASSSSS" to Mueller, but now that I think about, is she funny? I know she'd be great, but would she really make this a must-see kind of thing? Not sure. But with Gaga's Vegas residency happening, I don't see her doing Broadway for awhile. Seems odd to agree to do a Vegas residency when you've got a hot movie coming out and have so many projects probably being presented to you.
^Ya but wouldn't you, if you were getting over 1 million per show?
(And her Vegas agreement was made WAY before any of her current film success)

Oh no, monetarily, yes, makes sense, but looking at the Vegas people... Seems like she's settling.. Especially since this movie was on the horizon, etc.
I don’t see Broadway for at least three years.
