I just finished watching the debates and if I were someone who didn't watch the news 24/7 like I do, I'd vote Romney. Obama needs to lay the smackdown next time and that asshat Lehrer needs to be put out to pasture immediately. That was embarrassing.
Since Bobby Cannavale just set someone on fire on Boardwalk Empire on Sunday, that would be an interesting twist.
And Patti should just show up with her lawnmower everywhere. Hell, she should've moderated the debate instead of Jim Lehrer.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

I didn't get to see the debate, but all the news outlets are calling it a clear Romney win. Did Obama fall right into the trap they set? Last week they released an internal memo saying to be prepared because Obama was the far superior debater and Romney had no debate experience, etc. This is like some The West Wing crap. Please Lord, tell me that Obama will learn from this and come out swinging in the next debate. How on EARTH did Romney come out on top?!
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
Part of me wonders if they are going to use Mitt's debate answers to basically portray him as the multiple choice answer panderer that he is.
On presentation he beat Obama. But on substance, there was lie after lie, and much of this did not square with his Primary efforts. I can see a great campaign ad based upon Multiple Choice Mitt...
But, if this debate was the ONLY thing you saw, then you would come away with the impression that Mitt was more on his game.
I think that the next few days will really determine what impact this debate has on polling. The "Nevermind" comment, and Big Bird, may stick as much as anything else.
But, Obama needs to be more present for the next one.
the debates are about selling soundbytes. one can be an obama supporter and admit "hope and change" is a soundbyte without particulars. the average american attention span is simply not long enough for anything more. and one can apply these techniques to the same format.
Are there any debates where the audience gets to ask questions? Obama would do very well.

Romney sucked imo and is still the ultimate annoying, smirking, arrogant, classless flip flopping, lying liar. He reminded me of the Taco Bell dog. Of course I agree that the American public has the attention span of a flea.

I'm glad I had to work late last night, so I missed most of it (although I was listening to bits and pieces online). I can understand the pundits outrage that Obama was lackluster. I kind of wish his team would own that instead of trying to spin that what we saw of his performance wasn't necessarily true (if that makes any sense). Does Romney's performance change my opinion of him? Absolutely not. I loathe the man. Oh, and Jim Lehrer should be put out to pasture.
I am completely burned out by this political cycle that only seems to get longer and longer with each election. I'll be tuning out more than tuning in.
