I'm going to be at Sutton's final performance as well. I initially didn't plan my trip that way, I just got lucky and she announced her final day on the weekend I would be in NYC. :)

Ive been to, Sebastian Bach's closing night at Jekyll & Hyde, I was at Rocky Horrors closing night and I will be at Matthew Morrison's last night at Hairspray.

I remember feeling like an outsider at Jekyll & Hyde. Id seen the show 3 times but still, most of my friends had seen it ten times more than me or better and knew him more than I did. There were lots of tears. Very sad.

When I saw Rocky Horror's closing night, an already crazy show was even crazier. The crowd was out of control and the cast had a lot of fun. I had seen that show 17 times so I was familiar with the cast and even some of the ushers knew me well. It was an amazing night ill never forget.

Matt's last night is gonna be emotional for me too. Ive seen that show now, 19 times. Im gonna miss him.

Matt Morrison will be missed. What a heart-throb, with emphasis on the HEART.

Wow, how do you guys afford to go see the same musical....19 times?
Do you buy tickets at regular prices or discounted prices? I saw Gypsy three times so far and I paid $96.50 each time! Except the third time when I went with two cousins and I offered to pay for their tickets...it came out to $198 (mezz seats)

Simple.

Don't pay full price. http://www.talkinbroadway.com/boards/rush.html

Or, see the same show on tour in a smallish city.

fpr Hairspray Standing room tickets are the way I should go but I have payed full price 3 times. But for LSOH I haven't payed full price yet. Half price 2 times and rush the other 2 times. rush tickets are my friend.

I got student tickets for Movin Out back in September, and they had me sit front row, center, and with that speaker up in front...I tell you, I almost went deaf!!
If paying for discounted tickets means bad seats, I will forget about it. Thank God I can afford my tickets, but to pay less for bad seats, I dont like that. I want to enjoy the show.
So I guess it's a no-win situation for me :)

Im in a wheelchair... J&H cost me $12.50 to see. Rocky Horror and Hairspray both cost me $20. I can see the show 5 times for the cost of one full price ticket because Im not actually using a chair.
