I agree TJ, I was a HUGE Louise Pitre fan.. then I saw I saw Monigue and my GAWD that woman owns the role. Hoty should not have gotten the Broadway slot.
Tina Maddigan was/is also a total treasure and while it was sad to see her leave, I look forward to hearing more from her in the future.
I also agree that you need the right cast for this show to 'click'. You have to approach the show, as an actor, with a semingly tongue in cheek attitude it seems. I noticed one review of the second national tour that mentioned that, and it hit in right on the head.
I still say.. GET RID of Michael benjamin Washington.. don't like him. never have and never will.
As far as Joe Machota goes, the man is a TOTAL doll both onstage and off.. and as far as I am concerned, no one can top him, pun not indended though clearly there, as Sky. I also look forward to hearing more from him in the future.

Now.. onto the CBS Performances ::

Mamma Mia--
First, my pet peves.. why did the give Tamara Bernier, Tanya, such a GAWD awful wig?? The one she wore in Toronto was SOO much better!
Now, first of all, they had teh cast cramped in way to small ofa place and I didn't 'dig' the walking on counters and those types of thing. They should have had the cast members in their 'perty' clothes as opossed to their wedding clothes. I know they wear the wedding clothes in teh finale, but stil, the party clothes would come off better on TV and fit the number better.. in addition to relieving the sea of pink we saw. I know the idea of the choreo is to have it constructed so that the audience can do it to, to an extent, but in a TV appearance format, you can NOT convey that and so the choreography looks cheap and horrid -- do something more with it! And yes, the lighting that they use during teh finale seems to be keep to pulling it off.. too bad they can't do something about that for an appearance like that.

Fame--
Dear lord I wanted to throw something at my TV. GREAT song.. it is a classic. Nicole Leach was decent, but she will never be Loraine Velez (the original London Carmen who ripped the hell outta the song!). Now for the ensemble... good, they DO have energy.. I will give them that.. but Geezus..could that "cheroe" be ANY worse??? Can you even call that choreo and not get sick??? And WHY were "Nick" (Chris Hanke) and "Serena" (Sara Schmidt) stuck WAY in the back.. I know they have no bearing on that number, but they ARE the leads.. come on now!
Once again, I wanted to kick my TV during this one. Updated On: 11/29/03 at 02:30 PM

I just found this site and was excited to see there are other Mamma Mia fans out there that agree with me! Monique and Kristie along with the rest of Tour 2 is the best Mamma Mia cast! Have to agree with TJ that the Dads are the greatest and I can't neglect to mention what wonderful jobs Ellen Harvey and Robin Baxter do as Tanya and Rosie! Every member of that company has place in my heart!

I'm feeling like a proud Mamma now! ha ha!

Um...why? Is this a celebration?

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

Why yes.
