Hey! I didn't go to the camp, but I was an assistant teacher in Providence. I worked with Canedy and Brandon!!! They're great. :) I was a co-counselor with Alexis and we were in charge of the Shuberts. Bill and Sue are awesome!!! Sue is an awesome person. Hmm, who else did I work with...Marc T, Alee, Tony (of course!)...etc. Marc and Alexis were the leads in "State Fair" but I heard some cities did "Guys and Dolls" instead of "State Fair." That's really cool that you went to the camp! I was 17 when I taught, so I was the same age as a lot of the older campers in the Dodgers and Nederlanders groups. I saw an announcement looking for teachers on Playbill.com so I sent in my resume, got an interview, and got the job! They didn't ask how old I was, and I thought I was old enough because I thought the camp went up to age 15 for some reason... but it was SO fun! Now all of the people that I worked with are going to be like my counselors during the Parade, lol. They were teasing me at auditions and were like "You used to be an authority figure and now you're one of the kids!" Haha. I <3 Camp Broadway!

Oh don't lie BwayTheatre11 you loved every second of it.

I can't spell for the life of me I know that's very true. It's really a pain becaues spell check doesn't always help.

Grace: My love for you is like this scar (points to elbow) ulgy but permanent!

I hate to say but the parade isn't as fun for me as it was when I was kid. How I used to look forward to it and (showing my age here) I remember what BIG deal it was to see it on our first COLOR tv. That and the Rose parade on New Years Day.

BTW--does anyone here remember the year that (for what ever reason) the float with Santa stopped in front of Macy's and Santa dropped his pants when he climbed off? I don't ever remember Santa getting off the float before or after that one time. Call of nature???

I went to the Macy's parade once. It was all kinds of cold and not fun. Some creep kept trying to press through the crowd to get to the curb. We called a policeman over and his idea of solving the problem was to help the guy get through! Then, after the cop left, the guy turned around and yelled; "Hey, Jake! Bobby! I got a spot! Over here!"

Another problem was that this year there was a temperature inversion. The parade committee fills the balloons to about 75% full counting on the heat from the day to expand the gas... well this year the temperature at 9:00 was actually colder than the temperature at 6:00 so instead of expanding, the gas contracted and the balloons were so low I have a distinct memory of Snoopy not only being dragged with his feet dragging the ground, but at one point he tipped over and almost fell on us! (I think he got to about six to ten feet over our heads before they got control of him.)
