I was backstage twice at the Imperial when Les Miz was playing there. INCREDIBLE experience!

BwayTheatre11 - Yes! I'm a huge Millie fan! I was thrilled, it was really cool to hang out with some ensemble members and stuff, plus there were a few new people on the job that day. Too bad Sutton hadn't arrived yet, otherwise it would've been a party, haha.

Well... the no picture rule isn't always strictly enforced. I have pictures of me on the set of Chicago when it was still at the Shubert.

Backstage at the Shubert is probably one of my favorites.... probably because I know/knew everyone and was always there. For quite sometime we were all beginning to joke that we should just pitch me a tent in one of the dressing rooms or put me in the company.

I also greatly enjoyed hanging out backstage at the Cort. Honestly, in the months Hollywood Arms was open I think I spent more time backstage in the Cort dressing rooms than I did in my own apartment!

But again, knew people in both shows.....

I had one memorable experience on Broadway. Having met the lead actor at the stage door in London when the show opened there, I had requested when we were over to see the show in New York if we could also talk to him after the show by the stage door at the Broadhurst.

He was more generous than that - he sent out his PA who told us that he was inviting us to meet him in his dressing room while he was preparing for that evening's performance. On the way, we had seen many actors in all manner of dress and were putting on their makeups and wigs.

The show and the actor -- ASPECTS OF LOVE and Michael Ball!

"or with a 'special' person. Get my drift? "

Not to bring down the fun in this topic but Im pretty offended by that comment. Its great that you got a boy in a wheelchair backstage at a lot of shows but to suggest bringing someone with a disability to a show so you can use their health problems as an in makes me sick. Im in a wheelchair myself and I would never lay down my pride to say pity me, all i want to do is see the set.

Excuse me, but I'm afraid you have drawn a wrong conclusion about my post. I did not 'use' anyone. Nor did my wheel-chair bound friend from OK. I was contaced by a young theater pal from OK. I simply arranged for this young man travling with his mom to NYC to be treated to a backstage tour of a few of the shows he was seeing. The Wildhorn casts were extremely kind to him and that made his day and mine!

When I referred to "using" I meant let the actor know if you have traveled some distance and "if" you have brought someone like a relative just to see the show. There is nothing to get sick over.

Sorry that you took this as something else. Happy posting.

Well...I got to visit backstage at The Majestic without asking for it, an Aussie accent and admiting I couldn't come back to try and see the actor I wanted to meet in a weeks time as I was flying back to Oz did the trick with one of the crew.
