I thought Harbour was quite good. Well rehearsed and thought out. I hate it when the host looks like they are reading off of the cards where as Harbour looked as though he wasn't meaning on them. He is sort of sexy......
I loved Chance, but I’m probably biased since I call Chicago home. Thought his monologue was fantastic and I loved that he gave a shoutout to the Chicago Teachers Union.

Loved this episode as well. Chance has such infectious energy that is undeniable.
South Florida, I truly ask this non judgmentally since comedy is subjective, but how is this "another lousy" show? Have you not been enjoying this season? Most people I know, and the SNL subreddit I follow all agree these first 4 episodes are of much higher quality in terms of writing than the last 2 seasons have been, at least. Just curious as to your thoughts. The woody episode as a whole wasn't great but they haven't been this consistent since S42 in my opinion, which was the best of modern SNL seasons. Hopefully you don't just judge by their political content, I won't disagree that they gotta step up there.
I would like to see stuff about Rudy with a Tales From The Crypt theme. Edginess, even the Baldwin open seemed tame. Maybe they're purposely steering clear of pure politics but Rudy needed to be skewered this week.

Well, if the show is lousy to you because Rudy isn't being covered I'm not sure what to say. They've been doing a poor job with Baldwin and Trump for years though I don't disagree.
Also, lots of people are upset (mainly f'ing twitter, shocker!) over Che's Caitlyn Jenner joke on update. Im curious as to others thoughts on it. He's been getting a lot of backlash, mostly with racial slurs directed towards him which just doesn't help the situation or anyone's case here. I personally am not a fan of Che, but I did not find this to be bad at all. I am not trans so I don't speak for that community however. I more just found the joke not particularly funny and as always, a poor delivery from Michael Che. Curious as to others thoughts.
Also, thought it was interesting they brought back Darrell Hammond this past week, after it was noted how hurt he was by SNL to go with Alec as Trump and not him.

He does the announcing every week still, but I figured he wasn’t going to come back onto the show ever. I was so happy to see him!

Darrell is on the show. He is the announcer who replaced Don Pardo. I, personally don't think Baldwin's take on trump is that good. Today's demographic knows Baldwin however and not Hammond.

Probably the worst of the season, but still enjoyable episode honestly. If this is the worst we get all year, then so be it. We're in for a good season. Corporate song, Colour, and Lingo for Kids were my favorites personally. Also it seems to be a theme this season that Cecily will be doing a live sketch with dogs at least every few episodes. Honestly, I am here for it.
This show is no longer watchable, except for maybe the musical guests. Even Weekend Update is becoming stale that they have to keep bringing up Pete Davidson jokes. Nonetheless it keeps winning Emmys for best variety sketch series - probably because of its legacy and that at 90 minute long, they present lots of sketches - not that they are good.

If the show is no longer watchable, then I recommend you no longer watch. This is also a matter of entirely your opinion, which you're more than allowed, but clearly does not speak to how everyone feels regarding the show.
I think the gradual pivot towards content creation strategy instead of live show based strategy has helped the show a ton; everyone seems to agree that the pre-tapes are usually a good bit better than the live sketches in any given episode. And the fact that you can watch the highlights on YouTube now, whereas for years SNL fought against YouTube, shows that the whole sketch show concept is still evolving.
Will Ferrell w/ King Princess! Amazing! 5 timers club for Ferrell I believe.
And ^ South Florida, YOU may think the writing blows, but I do not. Comedy is subjective and it is simply about taste. That goes for art in general. Your opinion is more than valid, but many would agree this season is the strongest they have had in years. Neither is a fact, but I do not present mine as one unlike you.
Ferrell episode was great in my opinion. Another weak trump opener but the debate was hysterical. Also that Thanksgiving sketch was EVERYTHING. Ferrell as usual was a joy to watch, all the cut for time sketches on YouTube were fantastic for this episode as well.
J Lo last night I thought was easily the worst episode of the season. I enjoyed The cold open, espeically Corden as Boris. Potty PM was good too, along with the one with the sisters I guess although too many sketches about J Lo being hot.

Yup. The opening monologue, and the first 3 (I think it was three) sketches were all about how JLO is 50 (which FTR, is a fantastic age to be), but looks better in that green dress than... (blah, blah, blah - whatever), and the fictional spouse in another sketch is SO UNWORTHY, and a third sketch about ... heck, I can't even remember, other than it was about JLO's unbelievable youth despite her age.
Whatever. Usually, when the guest host is a singer, they're also the main musical guest. Huh... Why not, this time JLO?

To be fair on the music guest end, she’s doing the halftime show. Could be a contractual thing that she can’t perform for a certain amount or time leading up to it, plus she probably wants it to feel fresh. Just my take on that aspect. But ya weak writing last night I thought.
