Ever since Ben reduced his schedule, I think all the main Evans have only done six a week."

all main evans do six shows a week due to the emotional and physically tolls the role takes on the actor. ben was on vocal rest the week of the tonys because the score is so difficult to sing. an alternate like michael lee brown (i believe he’s left the show now but not the point) with usually go on for a wednesday matinee or something so the main evan can rest

they’re taking precautions, especially with andrew, so someone doesn’t blow out their voice mid show.

I saw DEH on Saturday night August 17 and Andrew was on as Evan. just WOW. What an amazing performance this young man gave. He may not have Ben Platt's voice but his acting is on another level. This was my 4th time seeing the show and my 4th Evan and I caught so much more of the book this time. Maybe because I was in the front row but mainly because of Andrew's acting.I cannot say enough great things about him and feel totally blessed to have seen the show again.It was my 70th birthday weekend in from Texas and it was magical.. We also saw Moulin Rouge and Oklahoma! Both terrific with OBC for both. There were no understudies in all 3 shows. I can't wait to come back next May.. I am already making my list of "can;t miss shows starting with The Inheritance and Take Me Out.

thanks for clarifying that for me! i haven’t been following the show for a while and just assumed that he left to do something else. i probably just mixed that up with taylor trensch

When he first joined he said he was there for the year. But, I hope he re-signs and sticks around longer.

Anyone have an idea of how much longer he'll be there? Looking at maybe going on Sunday 12/1. Also, is the Sunday after Thanksgiving a day where cast members are typically away still from the holiday? Thanks!

I admire the way the show has promoted new cast members. 

The video of Ben Platt, Noah Galvin and Taylor Trensch dancing together.

The video of the quartet of Evan's singing "For Forever"

And Andrew Barth Feldman's backstage videos chatting with the understudies, replacements and swings. The videos present a nice sense of camaraderie and give audiences a chance to get hyped for the new cast members without dismissing the achievements of their predecessors. It also gives a chance to hear other parts of the score. Before the show opened in 2016 (wow!) the only song I'd hear was "Waving Through a Window." Which is great but made me worry the rest of the score wasn't worth hearing.

If they don’t sign ABF for another year, I think they might bring in Robert Markus from the toronto production. They’ve transferred nearly everyone else to the tour and Zachary Noah Piser is the new Evan alternate on broadway, so it wouldn’t be surprising. Plus he did that video featuring the four Evans long after the Toronto show closed, so he might not be done with the show.
