Any update?

FYI, Hair played the same theater and sold SRO with actors using the aisles and back of theater so it makes no sense why they won't allow it.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I know the two are vastly different shows, and in different theaters, but I truly hope they do not discontinue the SRO policy. To Kill A Mockingbird also has actors utilizing the aisles for the show and there was nothing unsafe about those actors walking around and entering behind us in the SRO section. Between a nearly impossible to win lottery, and an absolutely absurd price of 90.00 being the least expensive tickets available, that many run of the mill people cannot afford, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to offer a more affordable option."

They don't owe you a thing, and want to make the most money possible. That is the point of a business.

Ok. I realize that SRO is a privilege, the theatre/production doesn’t have to offer it

But that was a seriously stressful experience. They wouldn’t sell SRO till 8PM (that is when someone agreed to buy the last ticket, which by that point had undergone three price reductions). When i go to the theatre, I like to have the time to soak it in and adjust to my surroundings.

SRO does not offer a good view of the set(I couldn’t see the Elephant or Windmill that I found so interesting in Boston) Overall, i enjoyed the Broadway production significantly more than the early preview I saw in Boston.

If they had sold it 10-15 mins sooner, I would say it would be worth the $50

i can totally understand why they are hesitant to announce a permanent SRO policy.   This show makes allot of use of the isle/ back of house and I can see how it can be a logistical nightmare

PS they did not sell Matinee SRO

If the only part that you’re missing in standing room is the elephant and the wind mill, you’re not missing much. After The performance there is ample time to hang around the theater and look at the various details in place. You cannot go into the can can area but You can walk all around the rest of the area and take as many pictures as you want. Usually in theaters it seems like they are trying to shoo you out after the orchestra Finishes playing. There were a bunch of us taking pictures after that time and I am sure that eventually they say you need to leave but I left before that time.

Tonight appears sold out on TM. Has anyone stopped by the BO and been successful in the morning/afternoon?

I did SRO last week. I got to the box office around 2:30 and there’s was no line, and the box office employee told me they hadn’t started selling them yet, but I should check back at 3pm. So I came back right at 3 and they sold me the first two SRO tickets. Nobody was behind me in line.

As someone above said, you can’t see the Elephant or the windmill, but you can go down the aisle and take a look at them before the show, during intermission or after the show. Otherwise the view is perfect. And it’s fun to have the actors behind you waiting to come down the aisle. At one point Danny Burtsein decided to play around by sneaking right up next to us (seemingly in character) and leaned on the railing with us.

We did the Saturday matinee of Labor Day Weekend - got there between 8-8:30, and there was only one person in line. More trickled in, but a lot were trying to buy regular tickets. The box office dealt with that until they had the official word of how many SRO they had, and they sold 9 to the line around 10:25.

When you say they sold 9, do you mean that's how many they had available? Or were there only 9 people waiting?

It sounds like they sold only 9 standing-room spots that day.

Followup: Can you buy 2 standing-room tickets (like most shows) or is it limited to 1 per person (like ''Hadestown'' )?

Nine is the amount of spots they have for SRO. Most days its less as family members use those often.

Sorry if this has been answered, the only person who posted about times, etc., was a couple weeks ago.  If the show is sold out for tomorrow, would they sell the standing room when the box office opens or do they still wait till a few hours before the show?

I did SRO for the matinee today Saturday 9/14.  I got to the box office at 9:15am and was 2nd in line.  They gave out 9 spots total but the box office guy said that sometimes it's less if the cast members request them.  They do not start selling them until there are enough people to take all standing room spots or 10:30am(for the mat) whichever comes first.  All slots were taken by 10:20am and we were sold them then.  When I left 2 people were in line for the evening SRO.  The tricky thing with that is they go on sale at 3pm or when they have enough people in line to sell them all.  So sounds like evenings could be tricky.

@Chris1978: thank you for this note — this is extremely helpful!

Any updates on 09/14 evening show tonight? Ticketmaster has (4) seats still up for grabs, so I am curious if they are selling SRO before then...

I’m here today and the only one waiting. The main guy came out and said that he has 5 tickets. I’m taking 1 so essentially the next two people could claim the rest.

He’ll sell either at 2:30 or when there’s a line! Early in the week has better odds I’ve heard.

Has anybody tried standing room only tickets in the last two weeks? I want to try for the matinee tomorrow 10/17 and wanted to know if I should be there earlier than 8am as was previously mentioned was a good time to arrive.

For what it's worth:

I passed by the theatre on Sunday morning around 10am (box office opened at noon, I presume).

There was already a line of probably 10-15 people. If the posers above are correct about them only selling 9 spots, then I'd imagine most of the people in that line didn't get in.

Ok. I just got to the theatre at around 9:30 am and I’m 6th in line. Not sure if everybody here is waiting on standing room only but I’m crossing my fingers they will have more than 5 tickets!!!

I happened to be at the box office yesterday to buy regular tickets and two people were buying SRO at about 11:15 am for (I believe?) the evening show.  There wasn't any line and I'm not sure how many tickets were available, but it sounded like they'd just become available at that hour, as one of the guys had been standing around outside.
