And once again, you are incorrect or several points. Richard Gere was 40 when the film was released. Also, are you not aware that there have always been young billionaires? Do the names Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos or Steve Jobs ring any bells?
Uhhh did I stutter? Because, once again, you are wrong on all points. I said the character was supposed to be in his 40s. Richard Gere was in his 40s. Steve Kazee was in his 40s. Andy Karl is in his 40s.
I literally said "the character is supposed to be in his 40s". You must be having a tough day.
So, thanks for proving my point, oh and when this takes place (1990), there weren't any Silicon Valley billionaires. The character descriptions for the tour specifically says 40s.
If we are going to lawyer the issue, Edward actually inherited his money so he could technically be any age? After all, isn’t this acting anyway? Give it a chance...
Had no idea who he was then realized the dude from RENT Live...he looks in his 20's on stage and the age difference just doesn't work with the other girl as they both look the same age. Karl is gonna be 45 in August the age difference and looks maturity really matters. Bad Casting but it just may not last the summer with these 2!

For the record, both Edward understudies are around Brennin's age. So I really wouldn't focus too much on the age situation. Clearly this production isn't requiring a big age gap between the two.
I'm ashamed of all of you that no one's also mentioned andy Karl getting injured on stage. So clearly they picked Brandon for that similarity, and yes My spelling error is shade towards California, you can't just make up your own versions of names. While we're on it, 'kirsten' isn't a name IMO
Not that this casting is very exciting for me either, but with the age thing, why don't we wait and see how they look in costumes and makeup before we pre judge too much. Now, theres only so much makeup and costumes can do but lets not act like this is a 21 year old fresh out of college taking on the role.
