Thanks sbflyfan! Wouldn’t mind seeing a few of those if the price is right, but I’m not really wanting to buy season tickets. Need to save up for the 2020/2021 PNC Broadway series for when Hamilton comes back again. 2020-2021 Touring Season

No need to worry about season tickets... CLO shows haven't been selling out (even the tours which have one-week runs).  The ticket prices have gone up a bit over the past two years, but the mid to upper balcony is decently priced.  You can snag a nice seat at any time, even the day-of.  This year, almost the entire upper-half of the mezzanine/balcony was unsold for all of the shows... even "Hello Dolly," which surprised me.

I pick-and-choose which of their local productions I attend based on the Broadway or touring performers they bring in for the lead roles.  It can also be entertaining when they stunt-cast D-list 'celebrities'. Just some fun shows to see in the summer.  The production quality is always very impressive, and they either use their own set designs or they rent sets which were used for national tours, or designed by other regional companies.

Hamilton will be probably be easier to access the next time it comes around. The initial hype and craze will have worn off, much like "The Book of Mormon."

I’ll do that then, wait for individual tickets to go on sale. I still get plenty of their (Pittsburgh CLO) emails for advanced sales prior to general public release dates. And now that you’ve mentioned Cabaret, that would be very nice to see again, but I’m not sure about Guys and Dolls, Sister Act, and A Chorus Line. We’ll have to wait and see who they cast in the leads.

We’re not even into the first show of the 2019/2020 season and I’m already highly anticipating what’s coming next for the PNC series. I see large cities within a 4-hour with MFL and Frozen, and hope we get those next.

In the mean time, lots of great shows to attend in Pittsburgh over the next eight months!

Disney will reconfigure the North American tour of Aladdin in 2021. The new configuration will allow the show to play venues that couldn’t previously house the large equity tour.

I believe they recently did this with The Lion King tour as well, anyone know how significant the changes are to the set?

The set for Aladdin is already so cheap/small...what are they possibly changing? Maybe the size of the deck?

I was wondering the same thing. The set on Broadway looked cheap beyond belief.

LOL, it’s literally the biggest and most expensive show on tour, at 20 trucks and a six day load in.

I’m pretty certain in some venues the deck of the show jutted out beyond the proscenium. So reconfiguring the tour would allow it to play the smaller markets/venues. I hope it stays on the same contract, though... wouldn’t want another newsies.

I am intrigued by how quickly they decided to “downsize” the tour. I don’t think they’ve done any repeat engagements yet.

Also, this would be for the 2021-2022 touring season.

Aladdin is quite literally the biggest touring show, and it looked "cheap" to you?? I honestly am shocked by that statement. To each their own of course, but id be curious what doesn't look cheap to you.

Hoping My Fair Lady plays Boston next season

It's just the overall design that looks cheap.

Looks like Chicago is sending out a non-union tour. Sad.

The tour is starting in Alaska and is followed by a lot of one-nighters, so yeah...

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Unfortunate. Just feel like everything is going out non-union.

Just saw this article about Beetlejuice, and one of the producers mentions that a national tour is in the works toward the end of the interview. I assume that it'll launch in the 2020/21 season if it happens, but curious as to how this show's set will travel.

I've heard the DOLLY tour is going non-equity in Fall 2020.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Dolly did switch to non-eq. They’ll probably start playing lots of 1 and 2 day stops.

I don't think Jagged Little Pill is going out until 2021-2022.
