Was thinking about buying Philly tickets but I noticed they seem to be $50-$150. I'd rather just see a musical instead .... Never been to the new Met before though

I got tickets for the New York date because I will be working the day he's performing in Philly. I truly had forgotten how much I hate Ticketmaster until going through this to get tickets today. I'm really excited to see Ben and hear his new music which I've really liked what I've heard so far.

$400 is actually a fairly mid-range option for meet and greets - some can be as expensive as $600 or more while some can be as low as $100 or less it just depends on the artist and the demand.

The Dolby Theatre's site does have Ben listed, and it's not on Ticketmaster either....

People are saying the theatres are big, but never underestimate a teen following. DEH Stans are pretty rabid. His Meet & Greet in Toronto is $607. Ouch!

The whole point of the M&G is to find the sweet spot where most people can't swing it. I've done M&G where out of nearly 100 slots, there were only like 16 of us there. There's no downside, since they just lower the price of those seats closer to show time and knock the M&G off. Still sets up the concept that if you want to meet them, that is the way, so no one should be surprised if he isn't spending an extra hour outside after every show, etc.

^ Exactly. From a financial standpoint it's a great idea. Plus he can just leave in a car right after and not deal with the crowds.

I hope that a lot of the dear Evan Hansen fans realize that he's doing his new music and not expecting him to be seeing a lot from dear Evan Hansen. I've been to a lot of Broadway people's concerts and the audiences around me were complaining because they didn't sing songs from the shows they were known from and instead were singing new music. LOL
I mean I guess if you have that much money to throw around why not do the meet-and-greet- it's probably a more personal experience in a stage door would be. I'm the kind of person who will just wait till their star dims a little bit and they go back to Broadway and meeting them will not be as much of an issue and cost me an arm and a leg. Lol- but that's just me.

Looks to be selling really well—NYC is already sold out (to be expected). Dolby has maybe less than 1000 tickets left (Orchestra is pretty much sold out).

Excited to be seeing it in Philly!

Tried to get VIP tickets for Chicago literally the second they went on sale, but couldn’t get one. I guess they could have sold out during the presale, which I didn’t know about, but clearly he’s selling well.

I see quite a few seats available on Ticketmaster right now, and they're not just resale tickets.

Strange. They've put a "SOLD OUT" sign on the marquee.

Loved his voice, his melodies, his band and his choreography. He's sexier and more charismatic here than his stage roles were allowed to be.

Disliked the busy light design which kept blinding the folks in the balcony. If your star is center stage and you can't see him for 1/3 of the show you need to rethink it.

Concerned that the bulk of his stories are about painful break ups and personal stress. That guy's been dumped by more men than some of us have dated. He's clearly been burning the candle at both ends for a long time now.

Not pop savvy enough to provide a set list though I can say he covered Elton John, Stevie Womder and Brenda Carlyle in addition to singing his original songs.

I thought it was a terrific performance. Ben was in prime voice. Also loved the opening acts Abel and Ben Abraham. Thought it was funny he forgot to mention the drummer and continued to do so even after the first couple of rows yelled out “drummer!!”

As MrsSallyAdam mentioned, the set is basically his own album with a few pop covers woven in. Nothing from Dear Evan Hansen. Personally, I love Ben’s music, especially its unembellished sincerity and cathartic vulnerability. He really opened up about himself in these songs, probably too much to protect himself from reliving some of the pain and trauma he experienced in his life. For this reason, I find the excessive fanboy screaming quite distracting most of the time, especially in the middle of a song. It’s nothing new, and people do the same in Broadway shows. Still, I feel Ben is trying to tell a story through his songs, and being interrupted by any means really undercuts the flow of his storytelling. I also noticed some people were singing along the whole show. I wouldn’t have problem with it if it is Taylor Swift’s concert, but doing that when Ben had made it clear that he’s singing for someone specific was just rude. Let the man tell his story, and we can be there to support him by listening attentively without stealing his thunder.

Wow they just released more seats for the NYC concert at the Beacon for $105 in rear orchestra.

@dancingthrulife2, were people standing the entire time in the orchestra? I recall when I watched Mariah Carey's christmas concert at the Beacon a few years ago, everyone in orchestra stood up (hence why I got a mezzanine ticket for Ben's nyc concert on May 14th.)

There were some standing ovations, but in general people were sitting for the whole time.
