It's not just you.

All theatrical design as gone downhill the last decade.

Set, costume, logo, lighting... everything seems so uninspired compared to the work of the 1960-1980's.

There is a "grand-ness" that is lost.

Yeah, that is...I don't know what the heck it is.  The show is so much fun, and that's what they should be emphasizing.  This emphasizes absolutely nothing, and entices people to just walk on by.

Really? You're having THIS SORT of response to a logo edit? Yes young Jedi, you must be correct, five minutes in total was spent making this logo with the lipstick tease. Some are simply the sort that skew a focus group, and get batched into E/R BAD or E/R GOOD.

Extreme Response notes show a mind lacking the ability to think critically. We go where we are called.

As you've likely seen by the TOOTSIE pop ups here, the logo has been changed again, at least on the show's website. White block letters with "The Comedy Musical" below, and sometimes in smaller print over the "oo" between the T and t.

Has it changed on the Marquis marquee as well?

I HATE that Tootsie shaving commercial.

Tootsie, who is embedded into the publics[my] mind as an unattractive male trying to pass as a relatively unattractive woman, is NOT a glamorous movie star with a superfluous hair problem[like Elizabeth Taylor].

That idea is soooooo 70/80s, not amusing--actually it is offensive. Almost as bad as a footballer in a frock !!

We have/had an organisation in Australia called the 'old boilers'---that's where you will find your Tootsie 'look'.

Am I the only one who never thought of Dustin Hoffman as unattractive?

Wait--there's more!

Wandering down a NY street one day nearing Macys? I noticed lots of activity and a film crew. Many 'extras' around, obviously for a street scene, so, as you do in NY, thought, I could be one of those, just method act near the fire hydrant? and be casual.

I was ALMOST in Tootsie where DH rushed out the shop doors and tried to get into a cab. A keen eyed somebody noticed me and told me to pixx off but I did venture into the store after the[my] scene and got Mr Hoffmans autograph. When I told him I was from Australia he asked did I know so and so from Western Australia as he owed him some money. Yer sure---everyone knows everyone in Australia.

Up close Mr Hoffman definitely was NAGL.
